Lucerne, CA 15.10.2015 Lucerne, USA Km: 98510 Almost home / Fast Zuhause On the way to the south I drive through the Redwood Forrest. These are the giant trees. Some are more than 100m high and over 2000 years old. It was even possible for me to drive thru one of these trees. Wow. To find a free campsite becomes more and more hard and I camp in a RV park for $ 10. But I have also WiFi and can with Francesca Skype and see Leonardo. It is so comfortable that It takes a long time in the next morning until I leave. Then I cross unexpectedly Lucern (Luzern) and feel almost like home. Scenic however, it is more like in Meggen (next town to Lucern in Switzerland) and the little town looks like somewhere in northern California! In the evening I meet up again with the family. We now have several days to decide how we want to continue traveling, because I’m going by motorbike and she takes the public transport is not an option for me. Because I want to share the experience with Francesca and not even have to tell once in a week about the beautiful landscapes. All three on the bike does not go. I really don’t like to travel by public transport and a campervan is not so exciting. It will therefore not be so easy, and I hope we get no argument about it. Let’s see how we decide …. ********************** Auf dem Weg nach Süden fahre ich durch den Redwood Forrest. Dies sind die gigantisch grossen Bäume. Einige sind über 100m hoch und über 2000 Jahre alt. Es war mir sogar möglich durch einen hindurch zu fahren. Wow. Einen gratis Campingplatz zu finden wird immer schwieriger und ich entscheide mich für RV Park für 10$. Dafür habe ich auch WiFi und kann mit Francesca Skypen und sehe Leonardo. Es ist so gemütlich, dass ich mir am Morgen viel Zeit nehme um weiter zu reisen. Dann komme ich unverhofft in Luzern (Lucern) vorbei und fühle mich schon fast wie Zuhause. Landschaftlich ist es allerdings eher wie in Meggen und die kleine Stadt sieht aus wie irgendwo im Norden von Kalifornien! Am Abend treffe ich mich wieder mit der Familie. Wir haben nun einige Tage Zeit um zu entscheiden wie wir weiterreisen wollen, denn dass ich mit dem Töff fahre und sie den ÖV nimmt ist für mich keine Option. Denn möchte ich das Erlebte mit Francesca teilen können und nicht einmal in der Woche von den schönen Landschaften erzählen müssen. Zu dritt auf dem Motorrad geht nicht. Mit den ÖV fahren will ich nicht und einen Campervan ist nicht so spannend. Es wird also nicht so einfach werden und ich hoffe wir bekommen keinen Streit darüber. Mal sehen wie wir uns entscheiden….

Pistol River, OR 13.10.2015 Pistol River, USA Km: 98500 Find no campspot / Finde kein Campingplatz For the brake pads I have to drive more than 30 km, but finally I find a set. So I have no stress, I stay an extra night and Francesca already goes today on the train.
Then I drive along the coast and enjoy the great scenery.
In between, I’m amusing with squirrels that my carrots even eat out of your hand. On the other hand I amuse a lot of locals and tourists who are interested in me, the sidecar and my travel. Many are so excited that I get a lot of offers. Invitations to stay, food, marijuana and one gave me simply one dollar. Wow, what great people.
Ii is more and harder to find a campground. Everything is fenced and locked. Overnight on a State Park camping cost around 20 $ (for a piece of grass and a toilet). So I go on and on until I can find a place just at dusk. I still eat something small and go to bed tired. ********************** Für die Bremsbeläge muss ich über 30km fahren, finde aber schlussendlich einen Satz. Damit ich keinen Stress habe, bleibe ich noch eine Nacht länger und Francesca geht bereits heute auf den Zug. Dann fahre ich der Küste entlang und geniesse die tolle Landschaft. Zwischendurch unterhalte ich mich mit Squirrels, die mir die Rübli sogar aus der Hand essen. Auf der anderen Seite Unterhalte ich viele Lokale und Touristen, die an mir, dem Seitenwagen und meiner Reise interessiert sind. Viele sind so begeistert, dass ich viele Angebote bekomme. Einladungen zum Übernachten, Essen, Marihuana und einer gab mir einfach einen Dollar. Wow, was für tolle Leute. Nicht so toll ist, dass ich immer mehr Mühe habe einen Zeltplatz zu finden. Alles ist eingezäunt und abgesperrt. Übernachtung auf einem State Park Camping kostet um die 20$ (nur für ein Stück Gras und eine Toilette). So fahre ich weiter und weiter, bis ich gerade beim Eindunkeln noch einen Platz finde. Ich esse noch etwas Kleines und lege mich müde schlafen.

Washougal, WA 10.10.2015 Washougal, USA Km: 97244 Without title / Ohne Titel I spend another cold night in the mountains and want to consult a mechanic next morning. Unfortunately, today is Saturday and he has closed. So I go back to the mountains and stay another night again in the cold. It is time to get to the warm south! The next day, it will be warmer and I find an agency who gives me insurance for the motorbike.
The next day I go to Portland to meet Francesca again. She has now correctly recognized the situation and some important things have changed now. Although it is not the same as before between us, the journey can continue for the time being.
Then I need to change the brake pads, and I have no more in reserve! This is a small problem, because the Africa Twin has never been imported into North America and thus has no spare parts in stock. But I want to continue tomorrow and for that I need the brake pads.
Francesca will then take the train and we meet and further south again. ********************** Ich verbringe eine weitere kalte Nach in den Bergen und will noch einen Mechaniker aufsuchen. Leider ist heute Samstag und er hat geschlossen. So fahre ich wieder in die Berge und übernachte nochmals in der Kälte. Es wird dringend Zeit in den warmen Süden zu gelangen. Am nächsten Tag wird es dann Wärmer und ich finde eine Agentur bei der ich eine Versicherung für das Motorrad abschliessen kann. Am nächsten Tag fahre ich Richtung Portland, um Francesca wieder zu treffen. Sie hat die Situation diesmal richtig erkannt und einige wichtige Sachen haben sich nun geändert. Auch wenn es noch nicht gleich wie früher zwischen uns ist, kann die Reise vorläufig weitergehen. Dann muss ich noch die Bremsbeläge wechseln und ich habe keine mehr in Reserve! Dies ist ein kleines Problem, da die Africa Twin nie in Nord Amerika importiert worden ist und somit keiner Ersatzteile auf Lager hat. Ich möchte aber übermorgen weiterfahren und dazu brauche ich die Bremsbeläge. Francesca wird dann den Zug nehmen und wir treffen und weiter Südlich wieder.

Runaway / Haue ab Mount Saint Helens, WA

Mount Saint Helens, WA 4.10.2015 Mt. St. Helens, USA Km: 96756 Runaway / Haue ab I pack my things and make myself alone on the road. I am disappointed from the reunion, because I expected something different. That’s why I’m happy to go into the Rocky Mountains and to have some time to myself. I’m driving in a canyon along and find a free campsite. Unfortunately, there is no Internet to an email to Francesca to tell her why I will not return. I’ll send her the message tomorrow.

The next morning I drive around the Mt. Rainier and the next day around Mt. St. Helens. It’s a fantastic ride in the mountains with stunning views of the volcanoes. Especially when Mt. St. Helens traces of the eruption of 1980 are still clearly visible.
Unfortunately, the temperatures at night around 5 degrees Celsius what my sleeping bag is not designed for. So I have to drink in the morning 2 coffees, to motivate me to go out of the tent. ********************** Ich packe meine Sachen und mache mich alleine auf den Weg. Ich bin vom Wiedersehen enttäuscht, da ich etwas anderes erwartet habe. Darum bin ich froh, in die Rocky Mountains zu fahren und etwas Zeit für mich zu haben. Ich fahre in einem Canyon entlang und finde einen gratis Campingplatz. Leider gibt es hier kein Internet um ein Mail an Francesca zu senden um ihr zu sagen warum ich nicht mehr zurückkehren werde. Ich werde dies morgen machen. Am nächsten Morgen fahre ich rund um den Mt. Rainier und tags darauf um den Mt. St. Helens. Es ist eine fantastische Fahrt in den Bergen mit herrlicher Sicht auf die Vulkane. Speziell beim Mt. St. Helens sind die Spuren des Ausbruchs vom 1980 noch deutlich zu sehen. Leider sind die Temperaturen in der Nacht um die 5 Grad Celsius wofür mein Schlafsack nicht ausgelegt ist. So muss ich jeweils 2 Kaffees am Morgen trinken um mich zu motivieren aus dem Zelt zu gehen.

Meet Francesca again / Treffe Francesca wieder Seattle, WA

Seattle, WA 1.10.2015 Seattle, USA Km: 95885 Meet Francesca again / Treffe Francesca wieder It’s time to travel on. So I say goodbye to Dug and Cheryl and thank you for the accommodation, the help and the wonderful food. Thanks for a great time.
Then I take first the ferry and drive back to Vancouver. Then I’m worried because of crossing the border into the United States (the country number 35). But it was one of the fastest I’ve ever had and so I have enough time to make a detour. Unfortunately I have not seen that it is a dead end on a peninsula. Instead to drive back the 100Km, I take the ferry and go to Seattle.
In Seattle I see after 2 weeks Francesca and Leonardo again. Leonardo is grown a lot and much stronger than before. Amazing how quickly can a baby grow.
But the fun last only for a short moment, because the problems between Francesca and me are still the same. It has unfortunately nothing changed and instead we get closer to us, the gap becomes bigger and bigger. That big, that I will continue traveling tomorrow alone….. ********************** Es ist Zeit weiter zu reisen. So verabschiede ich mich von Dug und Cheryl und bedanke mich für die Unterbringung, die Hilfe und das herrliche Essen. Vielen Dank für die tolle Zeit. Dann geht’s zuerst auf die Fähre und zurück nach Vancouver. Dann habe ich etwas bammeln wegen des Grenzübertritt in die USA (Land Nummer 35). Aber es war einer der schnellsten den ich je hatte und so habe ich genügend Zeit um einen Umweg zu machen. Leider habe ich nicht gesehen, dass es eine Sackgasse auf einer Halbinsel ist. Anstelle die 100Km zurück zu fahren nehme ich die Fähre und fahre nach Seattle. In Seattle sehe ich nach 2 Wochen Francesca und Leonardo wieder. Leonardo ist einiges Gewachsen und viel stärker als zuvor. Erstaunlich wie schnell ein Baby wachsen kann. Die Freude ist allerdings nur von kurzer Dauer, da die Probleme zwischen Francesca und mir immer noch dieselben sind. Es hat sich leider nichts geändert und anstelle dass wir uns näher kommen, ist der Spalt nur noch grösser geworden. So gross, dass ich morgen weiter fahre und alleine weiterreisen werde…..

Mechanical work / Umbauten Victoria, Canada

Victoria, Canada 26.9.2015 Victoria, CAN Km: 95276 Mechanical work / Umbauten I have the best conditions tons to do here necessary work on the bike. First I look at the speedometer, which does not work for the last 200km. The plastic wheel is broken again and luckily I sent the necessary spare parts in the last parcel. So this is a small problem. Because Francesca with Leonardo can no longer ride on the bike, I’m doing some deconstructions and build some around for the future journey. I’ll write more about this later.
Then I realize that the tire has a cut. It’s the same problem as in New Zealand. I am annoyed because the tire is only driven 8000km and I have to buy a new one again. But where? I drive around the city and have several options. Dug calls his mechanics and he has a Chinese tire for a third of the price. I opt for this, since it cannot be worse than the Metzeler. I need to drive about 40 Km with the old tires and can only hope that he does not fall completely apart. The mechanic changed the tires quickly, and so I am ready for new adventures… ********************** Ich habe hier beste Bedingungen um die nötigen Arbeiten am Motorrad zu erledigen. Zuerst schaue ich den Tachometer an, der seit 200km nicht mehr funktioniert. Das Plastikrad ist wieder einmal gebrochen und glücklicherweise habe ich die nötigen Ersatzteile im letzten Packet schicken lassen. So ist dies ein kleines Problem. Da Francesca mit Leonardo nicht mehr auf dem Motorrad mitfahren kann, mache ich einige Rückbauten und baue einiges für die Weiterfahrt um. Später dazu mehr. Dann stelle ich fest, dass wieder der Reifen gerissen ist. Es ist das gleiche Problem wie schon in Neu Seeland. Ich ärgere mich, da der Reifen erst 8000Km gefahren ist und ich schon wieder einen neuen kaufen muss. Aber wo? Ich fahre in der Stadt herum und habe verschiedene Möglichkeiten. Dug ruft noch bei seinem Mechaniker an und der hat einen Chinesischen Reifen für einen Drittel des Preises. Ich entscheide mich für diesen, da er nicht schlechter als der Metzeler sein kann. Ich muss dazu allerdings über 40 Km mit dem alten Reifen fahren und hoffe dass er nicht ganz auseinander fällt. Der Mechaniker wechselt den Reifen gleich und so bin ich bereit für neue Abenteuer…

Reunion with Dug / Wiedersehen mit Dug Victoria, Canada

Victoria, Canada 22.9.2015 Victoria, CAN Km: 94663 Reunion with Dug / Wiedersehen mit Dug After a cold night (temperatures less than 5 degrees), the sun rises and warm up everything quickly. I use the time to try everything that is still wet from yesterday’s rain. Because I’m still sick it takes time until I’m ready and I drive off around noon. I use the next Mac Donald’s for free internet and see that Dug is now at home. So I decide to drive to Victoria to meet him again. We met us in Kazakhstan and we crossed the Caspian Sea and we had a great week together. When I arrived at Dugs home we are very happy to see us after 2 years again. Wow, what a feeling. He invites me to stay as long as I want and to do all the motorbike work. This is nice because the speedometer is broken and I’ll do some other work. It’s the best what can happen, because for Dug, motorbikes are like religion. ********************** Nach einer kühlen Nacht, die Temperaturen waren we***** als 5 Grad, scheint die Sonne am Morgen und wärmt alles schnell auf. Ich nutze die Zeit und lege alles aus um vom gestrigen Regen zu trocknen. Da ich immer noch Krank bin, nehme ich mit viel Zeit und fahre um 12 Uhr los. Im nächsten Mac Donalds (Free Internet) sehe ich, dass Dug wieder Zuhause ist und ich entscheide, nochmals nach Victoria zu fahren um ihn zu Treffen. Wir haben uns in Kasachstan getroffen, das Kaspische Meer überquert und hatten eine Woche lang eine tolle Zeit zusammen. Als ich bei ihm ankomme freuen wir uns beide uns nach über 2 Jahren wieder zu sehen. Wow, was für ein Gefühl. Er lädt mich ein, bei ihm zu wohnen und alle Arbeiten am Motorrad zu erledigen. Dies ist super, da der Tachometer nicht mehr funktioniert und ich andere Arbeiten machen will. Es ist wohl das Beste was mir passieren kann, denn für Dug sind Motorräder eine Art Religion.

Bears / Bären Vancouver Island, Canada

Vancouver Island, Canada 19.9.2015 Vancouver Island, CAN Km: 9535 Bears / Bären The night was calm but I could not sleep so well. Since I have absolutely no experience with bears, I thought at every sound that a bear would stand in front of the tent. After a few coffees I drive on and suddenly see in a village 2 bears playing around. I was still thinking, this is a nice place to set up the tent. The Canadians, however, are much more relaxed with bears and don’t care of two running bears around the village. In Switzerland bears are shot down as soon as they come close to a village. In Canada signs will be installed! In the evening it begins to rain again and I can just put up the tent in the dry. The next morning I have to drive for one hour in the rain before it dries again and gets warmer. After another night I drive to Tofino and it starts to rain really strong this time. I think it was just a storm and go on. Finally, I drive more than 2 hours in heavy rain until it is dry again, and the sun shows. In the tourist region, it is difficult to find a campground. But I find a small road that leads into the forest and from there a very narrow road even further away. I think here nobody will find me and I’ll have a quiet evening. 5 minutes later a group Moto-X rider, pass me on this small road at full speed and huge noise….. ********************** Die Nacht war ruhig doch konnte ich nicht so gut schlafen. Da ich absolut keine Erfahrung mit Bären habe, dachte ich bei jedem Geräusch dass ein Bär vor dem Zelt stehen würde. Nach einigen Kaffees fahre ich weiter und sehe auf einmal in einem Dorf 2 Bären, die auf einer Wise etwas herum spielen. Ich dachte noch, dies ist ein Platz wo ich immer wieder mal das Zelt aufstelle. Die Kanadier sind aber mit Bären viel gelassener und störten sich kaum das diese Zwei im Dorf herum laufen. In der Schweiz werde Bären abgeschossen, sobald sie in die Nähe eines Dorfes kommen. In Kanada werden Schilder aufgestellt! Gegen Abend fängt es an zu Regnen und ich kann gerade noch das Zelt im Trockenen aufstellen. Am nächsten Morgen muss ich noch eine Stunde im Regen fahren bevor es wieder abtrocknet und wärmer wird. Nach einer weiteren Übernachtung fahre ich Richtung Tofino und es beginnt diesmal richtig heftig zu Regnen. Ich denke es sei nur ein Gewitter und fahre weiter. Schlussendlich fahre ich über 2 Stunden im starken Regen, bis es wieder trocken ist und sich die Sonne zeigt. In der Touristischen Region ist es schwierig einen Zeltplatz zu finden. Ich finde aber eine kleine Strasse die in einen Wald führt und von da eine ganz schmale Strasse noch weiter weg. Da wird mich bestimmt niemand sehen oder finden. 5 Minuten später fährt eine Gruppe Motocross Fahrer auf dieser kleinen Strasse mit Vollgas und riesen Lärm an mir vorbei…..

Ride again / Fahre wieder auf dem Töff Somewhere, Canada

Somewhere, Canada 17.9.2015 Somewhere, CAN Km: 93704 Ride again / Fahre wieder auf dem Töff
Actually, everything is ready to go to go, but I postpone the departure even one day. So I can support Francesca, because Leonardo is sick for the first time. One day later I will definitely go and just today it rains after a few weeks for the first time!!! But I go anyway and say goodbye to Francesca and Leonardo. When will we see you again next time and how I’ll feel in the meantime? Then I continue after more than half a year on the bike, which is a great feeling. I drive comfortably on the highway heading to the ferry. After a few kilometers I reach the port and wait for the ferry. Here I meet Samuel an Indian who is already over 30 years in Canada. An interesting person, he invites me for a coffee and it’s great to chat with him.

After say bye to Samuel, I continue and soon begin to find a camp spot. First I want to go down a gravel road and drive through the barrier and beside the stone. Unfortunately, the bike does not fit through and I cannot push back the bike because it’s too heavy. A man and a woman come right luckily past to help me to get the motorbike back on the road. Then I look further and find a good spot and camp again alone after a long time …
… or there are bears? ********************** Eigentlich ist alles bereit um los zu fahren, doch ich verschiebe die Abfahrt noch um einen Tag. So kann ich Francesca unterstützen um Leonardo wieder gesund zu kriegen. Ein Tag später will ich definitiv abfahren und genau heute regnet es nach einigen Wochen zum ersten Mal!!! Aber ich fahre trotzdem Los und verabschiede mich von Francesca und Leonardo. Wann werden wir uns das nächste Mal wieder sehen und wie werde ich mich in der Zwischenzeit fühlen? Dann geht es nach über einem halben Jahr wieder auf dem Bike weiter, was ein tolles Gefühl ist. Ich fahre gemütlich auf dem Highway richtig Fähre. Nach einigen Kilometer erreiche ich die Zahlstation und warte weiter vorne auf die Fähre. Dabei begegne ich Samuel ein Inder, der schon über 30 Jahre in Kanada ist. Eine interessante Person, er lädt mich zu einem Kaffee ein und es ist toll mit ihm zu chatten. Nach Verabschiedung von Samuel, fahre ich weiter und beginne bald ein Camp Spot zu finden. Zuerst will ich eine Kiesstrasse runterfahren und neben der Barriere und dem Stein durchfahren. Leider passt das Bike nicht durch und ich kann das Bike nicht zurückschieben, da es zu schwer ist. Zum Glück kommen gleich ein Mann und eine Frau vorbei die mir helfen den Töff wieder auf die Strasse zu bringen. Danach suche ich weiter und finde einen guten Platz und Campiere wieder einmal alleine nach einer langen Zeit… …oder gibt es hier Bären?

Vancouver, Canada 10.9.2015 Vancouver, CAN Km: 93513 Everything new / Alles neu After a long discussion, the supervisor gives us permission to fly from Honolulu with the old tickets can. I think they wanted us only to teach that I don’t do it wrong again.
We pass all security checks and Francesca can relax a little after and feeding the little ones, who begins to sleep soon. So all are reassured and with a little delay we take off to…. We arrive in the morning in Vancouver and therefore I visit the country number 35 on my trip. New country, new climate (cold), new time, new friendly, new type of accommodation and a new mission.
So I’m going to just to pay for the transportation of the motorcycle as the first to the Shipping Agent. Then I move immediately to the customs to fill out all documents. Unfortunately, I have to wait until the customs finish the bio security exam. If it does not happen tomorrow, we have to stay for the weekend, which in turn will cost a lot of money for the accommodation. Let’s see how long this will take….. ********************** Nach langer Diskussion konnten hat der Supervisor in Honolulu uns die Erlaubnis gegeben um mit den alten Tickets fliegen zu können. Ich glaube sie wollte uns nur einschüchtern, damit ich es auf keinen Fall nochmals falsch mache. Wir passieren auch alle Sicherheitschecks und Francesca kann danach etwas entspannen und füttert den Kleinen, der bald zu schlafen beginnt. So sind alle beruhigt und mit etwas Verspätung fliegen wir los nach,…. Wir kommen in den Morgenstunden in Vancouver an und ich besuche somit Land Nummer 35 auf meiner Reise. Neues Land, neues Klima (kalt), neue Zeit, neue Freundlichkeit, neue Art der Unterkunft und eine neue Mission. So gehe ich gleich als erstes zum Shipping Agent um den Transport des Motorrades zu bezahlen. Danach sofort zum Zoll um alle Dokumente aus zu füllen. Leider muss ich noch warten bis der Zoll die Bio-Untersuchung erledigt hat. Wenn es nicht morgen geschieht, müssen wir übers Wochenende bleiben, was wiederum viel Geld für die Unterkunft kostet. Mal sehen wie lange dies dauern wird…..

Mokumoa Island (historical), HI 9.9.2015 Hawaii, USA Km: 563 Everything goes wrong / Alles läuft schief Once again a day to forget! But first things first:
We decide early to go to the airport, and eat something at the airport. Unfortunately, there is not a single restaurant before you check in. But we can only check in a few hours and so we to starve. Since we carry a lot of luggage, I will organize a luggage cart. These are not free here, and you have to pay $ 5 for the rent. This, of course I do not need it and carry everything.

Then there is a bio security control. Typically, this is, for example, when import a motorcycle in a country, to makes sure you do not bring pests into the country. Since there is so much vermin in Hawaii, you will be controlled when you leave the island. While the people security checkpoint I have to undress almost everything and like every time before my hands are checked for drug. Perhaps because they have seen in the x-ray small plastic bags which I packed with salt and detergent. Because Francesca also has 2 bags she is also controlled. In addition, she has too much sunscreen too. Since I do not want to throw it all away, I fill it into a smaller bottle. But I put most accidentally on the ground and this is now well protected from the sun. Unfortunately, the staff had no pleasure in it and I had to wipe again. I had already noticed that I forgot to book luggage and I do not know if I can still book it at the airport. When we checked in the man tells us it is no problem, I can pay for it right here. The backpack we can take as hand luggage, and therefore we will save a piece of luggage for $ 25. For this purpose, I have to repack everything because the backpack is not prepared for hand luggage. So in the check-in hall I spread everything on the floor and pack again. He then says also that I will take away the locks on my bag. In all the stress I forget the keys or left them lying at the security checkpoint. This I know, but not yet at this stage and realize it later. Then the man said at check in that he cannot find our tickets. He finds out that I have confused first and last name and thus the tickets are not valid. The rules say that the name must be exactly right. This was introduced after 9/11! After some time, the supervisor comes and tells us, she has to cancel the old tickets and book new. This because we booked online in Madrid, it cannot be done here. Rebooking costs $ 200 per person. This is more than the cost our Ticket or if we would fly tomorrow!!! Meanwhile it’s getting late and Leonardo should already asleep and starts screaming. More and more Francesca is so stressed out that I’m afraid that she wills collapse, as once happened in Australia. …..to be continued ********************** Wieder einmal ein Tag zum vergessen! Aber alles der Reihe nach: Wir entscheiden schon früh zum Flughafen zu fahren, dort etwas zu essen. Leider gibt es kein einziges Restaurant bevor man eingecheckt hat. Wir können aber erst in ein paar Stunden einchecken und so müssen wir etwas hungern. Da wir viel Gepäck mitschleppen, will ich einen Gepäckwagen organisieren. Diese sind hier nicht gratis und man muss 5$ für die Miete bezahlen. Dies mache ich natürlich nicht und muss dafür alles herumtragen. Dann gibt es eine Bio Sicherheitskontrolle. Normalerweise ist dies wenn man zum Beispiel ein Motorrad in ein Land einführt, damit man keine Ungeziefer ins Land bringt. Da es so viel Ungeziefer auf Hawaii gibt, wird man gleich beim Ausreisen kontrolliert. Bei der Personen Sicherheitskontrolle muss ich mich fast ganz ausziehen und wie jedes Mal zuvor werden meine Hände auf Drogenrückstände überprüft. Vielleicht weil sie im Röntgenbild kleine Plastiksäcke gesehen haben, in denen ich Salz und Waschmittel abgepackt habe. Da Francesca auch je 2 Säckchen hat wird sie auch kontrolliert. Zudem hat sie zu viel Sonnencreme dabei. Da ich nicht alles wegwerfen will, fülle ich es in ein kleineres Gefäss ab. Dabei schütte ich das meiste aus Versehen auf den Boden der nun gut vor der Sonnenstrahlung geschützt ist. Leider hatte das Personal keine Freude daran und ich musste es wieder aufwischen. Ich merkte schon früher dass ich vergessen habe Gepäckstücke zu buchen und ich weiss nicht ob ich dies am Flughafen noch buchen kann. Beim Einchecken sagt uns der Mann es sei kein Problem ich könne es gleich hier bezahlen. Den Rucksack können wir als Handgepäck mitnehmen und somit sparen wir ein Gepäckstück für 25$. Dazu muss ich aber alles umpacken, da der Rucksack nicht für Handgepäck vorgesehen ist. Also in der Eincheckhalle alles ausbreiten und wieder einpacken. Er meint dann auch, dass ich die Schlösser an meiner Tasche wegnehmen soll. Die Sicherheitsleute überprüfen immer wieder Gepäckstücke und wenn es Schlösser hat, brechen sie es gewaltsam auf. Also suche ich meinen Schlüsselbund um auf zu schliessen. Im ganzen Stress vergesse ich die Schlüssel wieder ein zu packen oder habe sie bei der Sicherheitskontrolle liegen gelassen. Dies weiss ich aber zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt noch nicht und merke es erst später. Leider ist es der Schlüsselbund mit allen Schlüsseln des Motorrades und ich weiss nicht mehr genau was ich alles am Motorrad abgeschlossen habe. Später dazu mehr…. Dann meint der Mann beim Check in, dass er unsere Tickets nicht finden kann. Er findet heraus, dass ich Vor- und Nachname verwechselt habe und somit die Tickets ungültig sind. Die Vorschriften sagen, dass die Namen genau stimmen müssen. Dies wurde nach 9/11 eingeführt! Nach einigem hin und her kommt der Supervisor und sagt uns, sie müssen die alten Tickets stornieren und neu buchen. Dies weil wir online in Madrid gebucht haben kann es nicht vor Ort gemacht werden. Die Umbuchung kostet 200$ pro Person. Das ist mehr als unsere Ticket gekostet haben oder wenn wir übermorgen fliegen würden!!! Unterdessen ist es schon spät und Leonardo sollte bereits schlafen und beginnt zu schreien. Mehr und mehr ist Francesca so sehr gestresst, dass ich Angst habe dass sie zusammenbricht, wie es einmal in Australien vorgekommen ist. …..Fortsetzung folgt

Pearl City, HI 7.9.2015 Pearl City, USA Km: 520 Pearl Harbor / Pearl Harbor Despite that I’ll be more and more a pacifist, I go to look at Pearl Harbor today. I take again the bus and it takes about 1 ½ hours to the Park Visitor of Pearl Harbor. I see from far, a few warships and Memorials.
When I go to the entrance a guy tells me what I can see here. I ask him what I can see for free. Unfortunately only the Visitor Park and the Memorial of the Arizona are for free. For everything else you have to pay for, what I will not do, because I’ve already seen some warships, submarines and Memorials.
Then I get to the security check and the man says that my fanny pack is not allowed! But it’s no problem; I can just bring him to the car back and come back. I explain to him then that I arrived by bus on which he looks at me puzzled. I can also for 3 $ deposit the fanny pack in the depot. But there is no locker; you just can put your stuff next to other suitcases. This I will not do for 2 reasons. First I have all my important documents and money in it and secondly I pay no 3$ for it….
It stresses me a little that the safety regulations are stricter than at an airport, and this just to look at a shipwreck, which means, old rusty metal.
I’m ****** off that I take 2 photo and return immediately. The good thing is that the bus ticket is still valid, so I ride the bus for $ 2.5 for 3 hours, and I see a lot from the town. ********************** Trotz dass ich mehr und mehr zum Pazifisten werde, gehe ich heute Pearl Harbor anschauen. Ich nehme dazu wieder den Bus und der braucht rund 1 ½ Stunden bis zum Visitor Park von Pearl Harbor. Ich sehe schon weitem einige Kriegsschiffe und Memorials . Als ich zum Eingang gehe erklärt mir einer was ich wo ansehen kann. Ich frage ihn, was man alles gratis ansehen kann. Leider sind nur der Visitor Park und das Memorial der „Arizona” gratis. Für alles andere muss man bezahlen, was ich aber nicht machen werde, da ich schon einige Kriegsschiffe, U-Boote und Memorials gesehen habe. Dann Komme ich zur Sicherheitskontrolle und die Sagen, dass meine Bauchtasche nicht erlaubt ist! Aber es ist kein Problem, ich kann sie einfach ins Auto zurück bringen und wieder kommen. Ich erkläre ihm dann dass ich mit dem Bus angereist bin worauf er mich verdutzt anschaut. Ich kann auch für 3$ die Bauchtasche im Depot hinterlegen. Es gibt zwar keine Schliessfächer aber ich sie neben all die anderen Koffer legen. Dies werde ich aus 2 Gründen nicht machen. Ersten habe ich all meine wichtigen Dokumente und Geld darin und zweitens bezahle ich keine 3$ dafür…. Es stresst mich ein wenig, dass die Sicherheitsvorschriften strenger sind als an einem Flughafen, nur um ein Frack anzusehen, also altes, rostiges Metall. Ich bis so sauer, dass ich noch 2 Fotos mache und gleich wieder umkehre. Das Gute daran ist, dass das Busticket immer noch gültig ist und ich somit für 2.5$ über 3 Stunden Bus fahren, und die Stadt besichtigen kann.

Kailua, HI 4.9.2015 Kailua, USA Km: 493 Island tour / Insel Rundfahrt Since I have no more motorbike, we have to travel by other kind of transportation. We decide for a stretch limo with private driver. I am surprised at the price of $ 5 to the other side of the island and return. We drive along the coast and spend some time on the beach in Kailua. Then it goes back to Waikiki. Unfortunately, the hostel is not the best. We always book the lowest category to save money. Nevertheless, the double room costs 65 $ and has the quality of a cheap place to stay in India. In addition to the many dirt and comply with many bugs, cockroaches and other vermin, there are also many sand fleas or mosquitoes that sting us constantly at night. The food is very expensive and so I understand a little why there are so many homeless people here. In almost all parks and roadsides them lying around and are usually stuffed with drugs. What is surprising to me that this takes place in one of the richest countries in the world. Then I head back to the planning, because is still not clear how to proceed and at the moment we book air tickets and hotels a maximum of one day in advance. So what next? Does anyone have a good idea? ********************** Da ich kein Töff mehr habe, müssen wir mit anderen Verkehrsmitteln reisen. Wir entscheiden und für eine „stretch Limosine” mit eigenem Fahrer. Mich überrascht der Preis von 5$ auf die andere Seite der Insel und zurück. Wir fahren entlang der Küste und verbringen einige Zeit am Strand in Kailua. Danach geht es wieder zurück nach Waikiki. Leider ist das Hostel nicht das Beste. Wir buchen immer die günstigste Kategorie um Geld zu sparen. Trotzdem kostet das Doppelzimmer 65$ und hat die Qualität einer günstigen Unterkunft in Indien. Neben dem vielen Dreck und entsprechen vielen Wanzen, Schaben und anderem Ungeziefer, gibt es auch noch viele Sandflöhe oder Moskitos die uns in der Nacht pausenlos stechen. Auch die Lebensmittel sind sehr teuer und so verstehe ich ein wenig, warum es hier so viele „homeless-people“ sind. In fast allen Parks und Strassenrändern liegen sie herum und sind meistens mit Drogen vollgestopft. Überraschend für mich ist, dass dies in einem der reichsten Länder der Welt stattfindet. Dann mache ich mich wieder an die Planung, denn ist immer noch nicht klar wie es weitergeht und im Moment buchen wir die Flugtickets und Hotels maximal einen Tag im Voraus. Also wie weiter? Hat jemand eine gute Idee?

Waikiki, HI 1.9.2015 Honolulu, USA Km: 392* Forward to the past / Vorwärts in die Vergangenheit The flight went smoothly and our neighbors tell us that they have never seen such a quiet baby. The customs we also go through without any problems and now we have to go to the hostel, somehow. We want to take the bus and we ask at the information desk. The nice man tells us that there are 2 ways. The shuttle bus ($ 30 per person) or a taxi (about $ 70). I then ask him what’s about the city bus? The bus driver will not let us in because of luggage, he says. Ok, but at least Francesca can take the bus and I take the shuttle to save money. But first let’s both try to take the city bus. No problem at all and we go for $ 2.5 per person in the city! In most Asian countries, they are trying to cheat the tourists and ask many times the normal price. I realize more and more that it is in the Western world as well. The difference is that for example, negotiates in Asia part of the culture and thus is quite normal. Aloha Hawaii …. * We will be traveling by bus and I’m counting down the kilometers to the bus (since the beginning of the journey) ********************** Der Flug verlief problemlos und unsere Nachbarn sagen uns, dass sie noch nie ein so ruhiges Baby gesehen haben. Den Zoll haben wir auch ohne Probleme durchlaufen und nun müssen wir irgendwie in unser Hostel kommen. Wir wollen den Bus nehmen und wir fragen an der Information. Der nette Mann sagt uns dass es 2 Möglichkeiten gibt. Der Shuttle Bus (30$ pro Person) oder ein Taxi (ca. 70$). Ich frage ihn dann nach dem Bus worauf er meint, der Busfahrer wird uns wegen des Gepäcks nicht reinlassen. Ok, aber mindestens Francesca kann den Bus nehmen und ich den Shuttle um Geld zu sparen. Aber zuerst wollen wir beide versuchen den Bus zu nehmen. Alles kein Problem und wir fahren für 2.5$ pro Person in die Stadt! In den meisten Asiatischen Ländern versuchen sie die Touristen zu bescheissen und verlangen ein x-faches des normalen Preises. Ich merke mehr und mehr, dass in unserer Westlichen Welt es genauso ist. Der Unterschied ist, dass zum Beispiel verhandeln in Asien Teil der Kultur und somit ganz normal ist. Bei uns werden unverschämte Preise verlangt, die mit der Leistung bei weitem nicht gerechtfertigt werden. Überlegt selbst mal für was ihr viel zu viel bezahlt habt und schreibt dies als Kommentar in den Blog. Interessant ist noch, dass wir spät am Abend abgeflogen sind und früh morgens des gleichen Tags angekommen sind. Ich wollte schon immer mit einer Zeitmaschine in die Vergangenheit fliegen. Ich wusste von Albert Einsteins spezieller Relativitätstheorie, aber dass die Zeitdilatation so gross ist hat mich echt überrascht J Nachdem wir in Waikiki angekommen sind, geht’s sofort an den Strand. Sydney Airport, Australia 30.8.2015 Sydney, Australia Km: 10031 Take off / Abflug Because there is no other buyer, I contact one who offers less money but is interested in the van. I am writing a text and he agrees with the new price and would like to meet me, because he goes in the holiday on Sunday.
When I meet him, I realize that we have probably a misunderstanding, because he wants to take it the Van right now! For this I’m absolutely not prepared, because we have to do much before we leave. I consider briefly and find a solution how we can manage it. We stay in front of his house, passed the van in the morning and go by train to the airport. For this purpose, but we still need to book a ticket and organize everything else. We’ll see if this works.
The next morning we wake up and drink a coffee and take the train to the airport. However, we must wait until the evening because the flight is at 6pm. So we have time yet to book accommodation and consider whether we need something more.

But to where and how further ??? ********************** Da kein anderer Käufer da ist, melde ich mich bei einem, der nicht so viel Geld geboten hat, aber den Van möchte. Ich schreibe im eine SMS und er ist mit dem neuen Preis einverstanden und möchte mich sofort treffen, da er am Sonntag in die Ferien abreisst. Als ich ihn treffe, merke ich dass wir wohl ein Missverständnis haben, denn er möchte den Van gleich mitnehmen! Darauf war ich absolut nicht vorbereitet, denn wir haben noch vieles zu erledigen bevor wir abreisen. Ich überlege kurz und finde eine Lösung wie wir es managen können. Wir übernachten vor seinem Haus, übergeben den Van am Morgen und gehen mit dem Zug zum Flughafen. Dazu müssen wir aber noch ein Ticket buchen und alles andere organisieren. Mal sehen ob dies alles klappt. Am nächsten Morgen wachen wir auch, trinken noch einen Kaffee und Nehmen den Zug zum Flughafen. Allerdings müssen wir bis am Abend warten da der Flug erst um 6 Uhr ist. So haben wir Zeit noch eine Unterkunft zu buchen und zu überlegen ob wir noch was brauchen. Beim Einchecken dann eine Überraschung, da wir nach den Zwischenstopp noch kein Weiterflugticket haben, erlaubt und die Fluggesellschaft den Flug nicht. Also buchen wir schnell Online ein Weiterflug Ticket, das aber dann wieder nicht akzeptiert wird. Da unterdessen viel Zeit vergangen ist hilft der Supervisor um erneut ein Ticket zu kaufen. Dies kostet über 2’000$ und ich kann nur hoffen, dass ich das Geld zurückbekomme, wenn ich den Flug Absage. Die Passportkontrolle gab auch noch einige Probleme, da ich unterdessen einen neuen Pass habe und mit einem anderen eingereist bin. Dann der Security Check braucht auch nochmals Zeit und wir wurden schon mit „last call” aufgerufen. Wir schaffen es gerade noch in den Flieger und können endlich Australien verlassen. Aber wohin und wie weiter???

Wie soll das Francesca alleine managen, denn ich möchte die Reise auf dem Motorrad weiterführen. Zudem ist es auch nicht das erste Mal dass wir streiten und wir denken sogar über eine Trennung nach. Mich stört dabei, dass ich Leonardo für eine längere Zeit nicht sehen werde. Aber auf der anderen Seite kann es so nicht weitergehen, denn es kostet zu viel Energie, die wir für das Reisen brauchen.

Glebe, Australia 20.8.2015 Sydney, Australia Km: 10131 A new hope / Neue Hoffnung In the meantime, we camp mostly close to a park where there is also a toilet. Um nicht auf zu fallen wechseln wir nach 2-3 Tage den Parkt und wir haben unterdessen viele Geheimtipps wo man gut übernachten kann. Francesca findet auch eine Couch wo wir wieder mal duschen und die Kleider waschen können. Couchsurfing ist eine Spannende Sache, denn diesmal hat uns ein Schwuler eingeladen. In den letzten Tagen haben sich einige gemeldet und möchten den Van ansehen. Einige sind vielversprechend und andere frustrierend. Man merkt schnell dass einige nur den Van anschauen wollen um die Einrichtung zu studieren. Bei einem anderen läuft gerade beim Probelauf Kühlwasser aus. Ich weiss, dass der Kühler ein Loch hat, jedoch nur wenn der Motor abkühlt. 2 Deutsche wollen nicht mal den Motor anmachen und sind Grundsätzlich begeistert vom Van. So mache ich mir viel Hoffnung, dass wir verkaufen können. Leider sagen sie am nächsten Tag ab. Aber wir haben noch 3 weiter die den Van anschauen wollen. Mal sehen ob sich was ergibt….

Parramatta, Australia 15.8.2015 Sydney, Australia Km: 10031 Waiting / Warten I realize that many emails are not sent by me. How many emails I did not receive, I do not know. This means if you are waiting for an answer, then simply write again until I answer J. Let’s see, what does my provider will say to this. The camper van we still have not sold even though we were able to show him a few times. As it is still winter, no new backpackers arrives and we think that we have to wait even longer. The waiting makes us nervous and we have repeatedly bad mood between us. So we argue from time to time and we consider / can as we are to continue the journey together?

It’s extremely boring for us to wait for a buyer, and we hope very soon to find one …. ********************** Ich merke, dass verschiedene Emails von mir nicht versendet werden. Wie viele Emails ich nicht bekommen habe, weiss ich nicht. Dies bedeutet, wenn ihr auf eine Antwort wartet, dann einfach nochmals schreiben, bis ich antworte J Mal sehen, was mein Provider dazu meint. Den Van haben wir immer noch nicht verkauft obwohl wir ihn einige Male zeigen konnten. Da es noch Winter ist, kommen einfach keine neuen Backpacker an und wir stellen uns ein, dass wir noch länger warten müssen. Die Warterei macht uns zu schaffen und wir haben immer wieder schlechte Stimmung zwischen uns. So streiten wir ab und zu und wir überlegen uns wie wir die Reise gemeinsam fortsetzten sollen / können? Es ist für uns extrem langweilig, auf einen Käufer zu warten und wir hoffen sehr demnächst einen zu finden….

Hornsby, Australia 10.8.2015 Sydney, Australia Km: 9911 City Camping / City Camping We are still waiting for a buyer and have therefore dropped the sales price. But it’s still not the season and so we’ll have to wait a little longer.
During this time we stay each night in the van. The problem of the matter is that we are in a big city and so camping is not as easy. In Parramatta we stay next to a sports ground in a side road and go to the shopping center for the toilet. In downtown, we are in a side street or a park. The problem is the parking, because during the day it’s free for 3 hours only and then we have to move on. We previously beat well even though I know it’s only a matter of time before the police sometimes knock on the window…. ********************** Wir warten immer noch auf einen Käufer und haben deshalb den Verkaufspreis gesenkt. Aber es ist immer noch nicht Saison und so müssen wir wohl noch etwas länger warten. In dieser Zeit übernachten wir jeweils im Van. Der hacken an der Sache ist, dass wir in einer Grossstadt sind und so das Campen nicht so einfach. In Parramatta haben wir neben einem Sportplatz übernachtet und sind jeweils im Shopping Center auf die Toilette. In der Innenstadt sind wir in einer Seitenstrasse oder bei einem Park. Das Problem ist das parken, denn es tagsüber nur für 3 Stunden gratis ist und wir dann weiter müssen. Wir schlagen uns bisher gut auch wenn ich weiss, dass es nur eine Frage der Zeit ist, bis die Polizei mal ans Fenster klopft….

Parramatta, Australia 5.8.2015 Parramatta, Australia Km: 9849 New camera / Neue Kamera I promised to tell you how we celebrated the Swiss national holiday: celebrated nothing. For us it is not so important to celebrate, Francesca may still drink no alcohol and fireworks we had not. We have finished a lot of works and it’s time to travel on. We were the last weeks at Chris house and had a nice and interesting time with him. Thanks for everything, Chris.
When we arrive in the suburbs of Sydney, I go first in a camera shop and buy me a new camera.
Then I have to transfer the visa, because I have a new passport. But this is no big deal.
We can also show the Van to someone who has interest. I am annoyed, because his price expectations are far removed from ours. I do not like it when buyers come unprepared and ask everything that is in the ad and then are surprised and think “I do not want to buy Van with so many kilometers”. Yes, this is waste of time…
So we are a little frustrated and have to wait for the next buyer. ********************** Ich habe versprochen zu sagen wie wir den Schweizer Nationalfeiertag gefeiert haben: gar nicht. Für uns ist es nicht so wichtig zu feiern, Francesca darf noch kein Alkohol trinken und eine Rakete hatten wir auch nicht. Wir haben viele Arbeiten abgeschlossen und es ist Zeit weiter zu reisen. Wir konnten die letzten Wochen bei Chris wohnen und hatten eine schöne und interessante Zeit mit ihm. Vielen Dank für alles, Chris. Als wir in den Suburbs von Sydney ankommen, gehe ich zuerst in ein Foto Laden und habe mir eine neue Kamera gekauft. Dann muss ich noch das Visum transferieren, da ich einen neuen Pass habe. Dies ist aber keine grosse Sache. Wir können auch gleich den Van jemanden zeigen, der Interesse hat. Ich ärgere mich jedoch, da seine Preisvorstellungen weit entfernt von unseren sind. Ich mag es auch nicht, wenn die Käufer unvorbereitet kommen und alles fragen, was im Inserat steht und dann überrascht sind und meinen „Ich will kein Van kaufen mit so vielen Kilometer”. Then we do it again for a walk we see dolphins and a whale in just 20 meters from the coast. Wow. And unfortunately I didn’t carry the camera, because it’s broken. Then I read on and watch some podcast about the education of the baby and children. An exciting thing, because I think in the last few decades and still today much is done wrong. Example: Crying is good for the lungs. Francesca makes this very reluctantly and we have once again bad mood. But this time not so long and we find a way quickly. Das Motorrad ist auch schon auf dem Weg und wir müssen nur noch in die nächst grössere Stadt fahren und den Van verkaufen. Dazu schalte ich ein Inserat und warte auf Interesse. Dann machen wir wieder einen Spaziergang uns sehen Delfine und ein Wal in nur 20 Meter von der Küste. Wow. Und leider habe die Kamera nicht dabei, da sie ja kaputt ist. Dann lese ich weiter und schaue mir einige Podcast an, die über die Erziehung der Baby und Kinder berichten. Eine spannende Sache, da ich glaube in den letzten Jahrzehnten und heute immer noch vieles falsche gemacht wird. Beispiel: Schreien ist gut für die Lunge. Die ist aus meiner Sicht nur eine Rechtfertigung wenn man das Baby nicht beruhigen kann, resp. zuvor etwas falsch gemacht hat. Francesca macht dies sehr ungerne und wir haben deswegen wieder einmal schlechte Stimmung. Diesmal aber nicht so lange und wir finden schnell einen Weg. Es kann auch sein dass sie nervös war, da Leonardo die letzte Nacht nur 4 Stunden am Stück geschlafen hat. Sonst schläft er so um die 7 Stunden am Stück (10-11 in der ganzen Nacht) was schon ganz angenehm ist. Wie feuert man den 1. August wenn man auf Reisen ist steht im nächsten Blog.

And at this moment my camera is definitely broken! I go in 3 shops and it seems that the expensive lens is defect. And some parts of the camera have also been broken and I’m considering buying a new one. I’ve made more than 20,000 photos and so it is not surprising, if something breaks.
A new camera is not in the budget and I consider what I should do. Let’s see …. ********************** Unterdessen ist die Stimmung wieder etwas besser, muss sie auch, wenn wir beide zusammen weiterreisen wollen. Und so arbeiten wir weiter. Als nächstes machen wir den Diabetes Test, denn Francesca hatte Schwangerschaftsdiabetes und nun testen wir, dass sie wirklich kein Diabetes hat. Das Resultat ist super, also keine Diabetes. Auch Leonardo hat die Impfung gut überstanden und das Wetter ist wärmer. So macht auch der tägliche Spaziergang mehr Spass, bei dem wir fast jeden Tag Wale sehen. Dann gebe ich das Startzeichen um das Motorrad an den nächsten Ort zu senden. Dabei prüfe ich ob der Container mit dem meinem Motorrad schon unterwegs ist. Die kann man heute Online verfolgen, da die Container ein GPS Tracking haben. Super 🙂 Wir haben auch einen Plan dass wir nun definitiv gehen und dies macht mich glücklich, denn es ist für uns sehr ungewöhnlich, mehr als 1-2 Wochen am selben Ort zu bleiben. Und in genau diesem Moment geht meine Kamera definitiv kaputt! Ich gehe in 3 Shops und es scheint, dass die teure Linse defekt ist. Die Kamera hat auch schon defekte und ich überlege eine neue zu kaufen. Ich habe bisher über 20’000 Fotos gemacht und so ist es nicht erstaunlich, wenn etwas kaputt geht. Eine neue Kamera ist aber nicht im Budget und ich überlege was ich machen soll. Mal sehen….

Port Macquarie, Australia 18.7.2015 Port Macquarie, Australia Km: 9251 Lot of work / Viel Arbeit We are lucky and no ranger comes by at night and I enjoy the sunrise on the beach in the morning. For this I must not get up extra early, because we go already by 6 clock to bed and get up early accordingly. Then we drive to Port Macquarie and stay again in Chris house. He is a couch surfer who has hosted us already 2 weeks ago. We can live with him until we have done everything. First, we make a day of rest! Then I’ll do Internet work and reinstall the computer.
Then I help Chris so some timber work, we appreciate very much when he light on the oven. In between, we take a walk and look every day at the whales in the ocean. Unfortunately, all are a bit far away but still exciting to see.
Next, we want to make the six weeks checkup for Leonardo. Although he is already 10 weeks old but it is sure good that someone is looking for him. Unfortunately, I’m once again disappointed when the Nurse measures out him. She measures the head circumference with 37 cm. I point out that I have measured 39 cm yesterday. She measures again and then gets even 39 cm! By contrast, the doctor is good since he sets priorities for vaccination. He is one of the first who makes this. All other kept saying that all vaccinations are extremely important. I see this a bit different and we decide to make only the most important of all vaccinations.
With the doctor’s visit, we have a task less but still so many. I realize that we do not really come forward and probably require some more time here. I am therefore a little stressed because I want to continue traveling. Francesca, it is also stressed and so the atmosphere between us is getting worse and worse … ********************** Wir haben Glück und kein Ranger kommt in der Nacht vorbei und ich geniesse den Sonnenaufgang am Strand. Dazu muss ich nicht extra früh aufstehen, da wir bereits um 6 Uhr abends ins Bett gehen und entsprechend früh aufstehen. Dann fahren wir nach Port Macquarie und übernachten wieder bei Chris. Er ist ein Couchsurfer, der uns schon vor 2 Wochen gehostet hat. Wir können bei ihm wohnen bis wir alles erledigt haben. Als erstes machen wir zuerst mal einen Ruhetag! Dann erledige ich Internet arbeiten und installiere den Computer neu. Dann helfe ich Chris beim Holzen, da wir sehr schätzen, wenn er abends den Ofen anfeuert. Zwischendurch machen wir einen Spaziergang und schauen uns jeden Tag die Wale im Meer an. Leider sind alle etwas weit weg aber trotzdem spannend an zu sehen. Als nächstes wollen wir den 6 Wochen Untersuchung von Leonardo machen. Er ist zwar schon 10 Wochen alt aber es ist sicher gut, dass mal jemand nach ihm schaut. Leider werde ich wieder mal enttäuscht, als die Krankenschwester ihn ausmisst. Beim Kopfumfang misst sie 37 cm. Ich mache sie darauf aufmerksam, dass ich gestern 39 cm gemessen habe. Sie misst nochmals und bekommt dann auch 39 cm. Hingegen ist der Doktor gut, da er bei den Impfungen Prioritäten setzt. Er ist einer der ersten der das macht. Alle anderen sagten immer wieder, dass alle Impfungen extrem wichtig sind. Ich sehe das etwas differenzierter und wir entscheiden uns nur die aller wichtigsten Impfungen zu machen. Mit dem Arztbesuch haben wir einen Task we***** aber immer noch so viele. Ich merke, dass wir nicht richtig vorwärts kommen und wohl etwas länger hier bleiben müssen. Ich bin deshalb etwas gestresst, da ich weiter reisen will. Francesca geht es auch so und so wird die Stimmung zwischen uns immer schlechter…..

Then I find various articles on natural methods. So seems to be screaming babies is a phenomenon of our Western civilization. We have already observed in Asia that there the babies cry much less. I believe more and more that we should go a more natural way. Away of quickly asleep, away from the mother must quickly go back to work, away from babies need to learn to sleep, away from the baby and parents separate as quickly as possible (after birth in hospital, separate bed or a private room, etc.) and away from what we want to do to make us feel more comfortable and, to make everything so that the baby feels comfortable.

Let’s see …. ********************** Unterdessen haben wir die Situation wieder unter Kontrolle. Zuerst versuchen wir einige Sachen um Leonardo das Schlafen zu lernen. Danach finde ich verschiedene Artikel über natürliche Methoden. So scheint schreien der Babys ein Phänomen unserer westlichen Zivilisation zu sein. Wir haben dies bereits in Asien beobachtet, dass dort die Babys viel we***** schreien. Ich glaube immer mehr daran, dass wir einen natürlicheren Weg gehen sollten. Weg von möglichst schnell Durchschlafen, weg von dass die Mutter möglichst schnell wieder arbeiten gehen muss, weg von Babys müssen schlafen lernen, weg von das Baby und Eltern möglichst schnell trennen (sei es nach der Geburt im Spital, separates Kinderbett oder ein eigenes Zimmer, usw.) und weg von dem was wir machen wollen, damit wir uns wohler fühlen und hin zu alles zu machen damit sich das Baby wohl fühlt. Wir versuchen so viel wie möglich Körperkontakt zu haben, ihm immer sofort die Brust zugeben sobald er will, wir müssen unserer Rhythmus ihm anpassen und vieles mehr. Mal sehen wie weit wir damit kommen. Während dessen fahren wir wieder Richtung Süden und stoppen in Byron Bay. Wieder ein Touristischer Ort und wir versuchen wieder am Strand zu übernachten. Es ist schon spannend, dass uns all die Verbote und Ranger richtig unsicher und ängstlich machen. Ich fühle mich oft wie in einem Gefängnis und nicht wirklich frei. Ich bin gespannt ob wieder ein Ranger vorbeikommt. Mal sehen….

Nachdem wir Leonardo im Meer baden und ein wenig im Sand spielen, ist er völlig übermüdet und schreit. Dies macht auch Francesca nervös und sie fängt auch an herum zu zicken. Danach werde ich nervös und die Stimmung wird immer schlechter und schlechter. Francesca gibt mir immer mehr das Gefühl mit Leonardo alle falsch zu machen und gebe ihn ihr immer schreiend zurück. Dies frustriert mich und ich lasse einen Tag lang alles alleine machen. Am Abend kommt dann ein Ranger vorbei und vertreibt uns unsanft, so dass wir mitten in der Nacht einen neuen Platz suchen müssen. Francesca ist ganz aufgelöst, denn sie hat es gerade geschafft, dass Leonardo einmal schläft. Scheiss Ranger!!! Nachdem wir uns ein wenig beruhigt haben, setzten wir als erstes die Priorität, dass er unbedingt mehr schlafen muss. In der Nacht schläft er 8-10 Stunden was genug ist. Aber am Tag schläft er kaum. Es ist das erste Mal, dass ich intensiv im Internet lese und mich über Babys informiere. Wir entscheiden uns einige Sachen zu versuchen und Tipps und Theorien von Experten umzusetzen. Mal sehen ob wir den Kleinen zum Schlafen bringen.

We will continue traveling today and leave Peter and Kay. We left reluctantly, because we have felt very well here and we had some interesting conversations with them. Thank you that we were allowed to spend a few days with you.

Right after we meet ‘old friends’. There are Elli and Resi, which we met already 3 times in Australia and New Zealand. We go together to Noosa and take a walk. Unfortunately Noosa is overrun with tourists, so it does not make much fun. But it’s great to chat with the 2 girls a bit. But we have to say goodbye too, as they travel in a different direction. It was great to have meet you and I wish you much fun with your further travel. ********************** Wir werden heute weiterreisen und verlassen darum Peter und Kay. Wir verlassen sie ungerne, denn wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und wir hatten einige spannende Gespräche miteinander. Vielen Dank dass wir einige Tage bei Euch verbrachten durften. Gleich danach treffen wir ‚alte Bekannte‘. Es sind Elli und Resi, die wir schon 3 Mal in Australien und Neu Seeland getroffen haben. Wir fahren zusammen nach Noosa und machen einen Spaziergang. Leider ist Noosa mit Touristen überlaufen, so dass es nicht so Spass macht. Dafür ist es toll mit den 2 Girls etwas zu plaudern. Aber auch ihnen müssen wir Goodbye sagen, da sie in eine andere Richtung reisen. Es war toll euch kennen gelernt zu haben und ich wünsche euch viel Spass bei eurer weiteren Reise.

They have gone with her Harley in all countries of the world. These are 194! It is also always a discussion what is a country. Peter has this well defined on his website. However, for me it is, more and more clear that my journey is not so special (so far not). Because from Europe to Australia have been many traveled by motorcycle. With Internet, Lonely Planet, GPS and many travelers it’s definitely not the same as Ted Simon has made in the 70 (http://jupitalia.com ).
For me it is far not the adventure I was looking for, but more an enrichment of the life and how to see the world. And just about this it’s so wonderful to talk and discuss with Peter and Kay. Of course, I also get some tip’s and can relaxed listen to their delightful stories.
Let’s see how many countries I still manage before I get home …. ********************** Auf meiner Reise treffe ich immer wieder andere Reisende an. Diesmal besuche ich Peter und Kay. Sie haben mit ihrer Harley in allen Ländern der Welt gefahren. Dies sind 194! Es ist auch immer eine Diskussion was ein Land ist. Somewhere, Australia 28.6.2015 Somewhere, Australia Km: 7877 Van does not start / Van springt nicht an We go after a few days ahead and make a detour into countryside to avoid Brisbane. We stay somewhere in a nice place and go to bed early. The next morning, the surprise, the Van will not start. In the morning he starts never very fast, but this time I try until the battery is empty….. Good that we have time and I am looking for someone with a jumper cable. Unfortunately I cannot find one, but I can see a man from the Road Assistance. I go over to him and ask him if he can help me. He asks if I am a member, I am not and I will have to pay him. I ask him how much it will cost and he says that I have to do not worry about it. Then he comes to our van, connect the jumper and the van start immediately. I want to give him $ 15 as a tip, but he did not want to accept. He said he like to do this for our family. Wow. I think it cannot better in a situation like this and it is great to see that there are such people in the Western World, who like to help. Thanks a lot for this. ********************** Wir fahren nach ein paar Tagen weiter und machen einen Umweg ins Hinterland um Brisbane zu umfahren. Wir übernachten irgendwo auf einem netten Platz und gehen früh zu Bett. Am nächsten Morgen dann die Überraschung, der Van startet nicht mehr. Am Morgen startet er nie sehr schnell, doch diesmal probiere ich bis die Batterie leer ist….. Gut dass wir Zeit haben und ich suche jemanden mit einem Überbrückungskabel. Leider finde ich keinen doch sehe ich einen vor der Road Assistance (TCS/ADAC). Ich gehe zu ihm rüber und frage ihn ob er mir helfen kann. Er fragt ob ich Mitglied bin, ich bin nicht und werde ihn wohl bezahlen müssen. Ich frage ihn wieviel es wohl kosten wird und er meint dass ich mir darüber keine Sorgen machen muss. Dann kommt er zu unserem Van, überbrückt und der Van springt gleich an. Ich möchte ihm 15$ als Trinkgeld geben, doch er will es nicht annehmen. Er meint er habe es gerne gemacht. Wow. Ich glaube es kann einem in einer solchen Situation nicht besser gehen und es ist toll zu sehen, dass es in der Western World noch solche Leute gibt, die einem gerne helfen. Vielen Dank dafür.

Port Macquarie, Australia 23.6.2015 Port Macquarie, Australia Km: 7116 It is getting warmer / Es wird wärmer First we drive to the north, as it is because warmer weather. We drive along the coast and it is increasingly difficult to find a good camp spot. But we do well and find one every night. One problem when camping is that we do not have proper shower. Francesca continues to find a host with Couch Surfing. These are people that offer a bed or couch for free. We usually get the key from the house or apartment and can also use the washing machine. In return, we cook and do most anything else with our host. Since we are much traveling alone, it is a great way to get in touch with locals and do cultural exchange things. In Port Macquarie Chris hosting us and tells us about his interesting trips. We enjoy finally warmer temperatures and relax in the sun. Francesca cut me the hair and I bake some bread. We like it so much here that we stay a little longer. We’ll see when we go… ********************** Als erstes fahren wir weiter in den Norden, da es da wärmer ist. Wir fahren der Küste entlang und es wird immer schwieriger einen guten Campspot zu finden. Wir schlagen uns aber gut und finden jede Nacht einen. Ein Problem beim Campen ist, dass wir keine richtige dusche haben. Francesca sucht und findet immer wieder ein Host bei Couchsurfing. Das sind Leute, die ein Bett oder eine Couch gratis anbieten. Meistens kriegen wir gleich den Schlüssel vom Haus oder der Wohnung und können auch die Waschmaschine benutzen. Als Gegenleistung kochen wir meistens und machen sonst was mit unserem Host. Da wir viel alleine unterwegs sind, ist es für uns eine gute Möglichkeit mit lokalen in Kontakt zu kommen und kulturelle Sachen austauschen. In Port Macquarie hostet uns Chris und erzählt über seine interessanten Reisen. Wir geniessen endlich wieder einmal wärmere Temperaturen und relaxen in der Sonne. Francesca schneidet mir noch die Haare und ich backe etwas Brot. Uns gefällt es so gut, dass wir noch etwas länger bleiben. Mal sehen wann wir wieder los ziehen…

Sydney, Australia 17.6.2015 Sydney, Australia Km: 6774 No swiss passport / Kein Schweizer Pass Leonardo determined more and more our traveling speed. Every time we want to put him in the car seat and drive off, he starts to become restless and if we do not put him on the mother’s breast, he will begin to cry. We often have to make this 2-3 times until we are ready to go. We are very clear that we were doing something wrong. Similarly with everything else, if he did not feel good or something is wrong or something that he makes not like we want: It’s our fault and we have to change our behavior and dealing with him!

Then I still want to get a Swiss passport and call a few times with the Swiss Embassy. Unfortunately, the employees who supervised me up to now enjoy his holidays now and it seems to me that all the others are unable to cope with the situation. At least I could deposit the documents and can now wait until the registration in Switzerland has been made. Until then, we pass the time with … Good question, what we want to do in the meantime.
********************** Leonardo bestimmt mehr und mehr unsere Reisegeschwindigkeit. Jedes Mal, wenn wir ihn in den Kindersitz legen und losfahren wollen, beginnt er an zu unruhig zu werden und wenn wir ihn nicht an die Brust der Mutter legen, wird er mit schreien beginnen. Das müssen wir oft 2-3 Mal machen, bis wir losfahren können. Es ist uns ganz klar, dass wir da etwas falsch machen. Genauso bei allem anderen, wenn er sich nicht wohl fühlt oder etwas nicht stimmt oder etwas macht das er nicht sollte: Es ist unsere Schuld und wir müssen unser Verhalten und Umgang mit ihm ändern! Dann will ich noch einen Schweizer Pass besorgen und telefoniere einige Male mit der Schweizer Botschaft. Leider ist der Mitarbeiter der mich bis anhin betreut hat in den Ferien und es scheint mir, dass alle anderen mit der Situation überfordert sind. Mindestens kann ich die Dokumente deponieren und muss nun warten bis die Registrierung in der Schweiz gemacht wurde. Bis dahin vertreiben wir die Zeit mit… Gute Frage, was wollen wir in der Zwischenzeit machen?

That’s not so easy, because the JP left sooner the police today. Because of the visit we have just lost so much time that we are also registering with Medicare too late. So we go back where we were housed by King Nathan and spoiled us with fine dining in the castle. He helps me to find a JP and calls right to at the highest level and he makes it possible for us Jesus himself signed the documents on the same day. Then we bring Dalai Lama back to the castle. The next morning we decide today to drive off and to continue our travel. Hurrah, we are back.
Thanks Nathan for a great time with you. It is a great feeling for me to be back on the trip after a long time. However, it is with Leonardo no longer the same and I’m curious what happen next. ********************** Für die Registrierung von Bud Spencer in der Schweiz brauche ich noch einige Dokumente, die von einem JP bestätigt werden müssen. Die ist nicht so einfach, da der JP bei der Polizei heute früher Feierabend macht. Dadurch haben wir gerade so viel Zeit verloren, dass wir auch die Registrierung bei Medicare zu spät sind. Also gehen wir wieder ins Schloss zurück wo uns König Nathan beherbergt und uns mit feinem Essen verwöhnt. Er hilft mir einen JP zu finden und ruft gleich an höchster Stelle an und er macht es möglich, dass uns Jesus noch am gleichen Tag die Dokumente unterzeichnet. Dann bringen wir Dalai Lama zurück ins Schloss. Am nächsten Morgen entscheiden wir uns, heute los zu fahren und unsere Reise fort zu setzten. Hurra, we are back. Besten Dank Nathan für die tolle Zeit bei dir. Es ist für mich ein tolles Gefühl nach langer Zeit wieder zurück auf der Reise zu sein. Allerdings ist es mit Leonardo nicht mehr dasselbe und ich bin gespannt wie es weiter geht.

Frankston, Australia 11.6.2015 Frankston, Australia Km: 5320 Lots of paperwork / Viel Papierarbeit The birth certificate is at the moment one of the most important documents. It is the basis for all other documents we need. Francesca wishes to register Leonardo in Italy and possibly apply for an Italian passport as first. For this we need a second birth certificate with an apostille. An apostille is a certification of the Australian authorities that the birth certificate of the Australian authority is valid! ??!? I expect not, that you understands this. Then we need a translation of the birth certificate into Italian and so we go to the Italian Consulate. They gave us immediately a passport, but do point out that we have to make the registration in Italy and do again need a birth certificate (of course, with apostille, which costs $ 60 each time).
Next, we need to apply to immigration for a visa, because until now it were Leonardo’s illegal here J
So far, we driving around 300 km in the city of Melbourne within 3 days driving around and have already achieved a lot. However, it is only about the half because Leonardo has to be registered in Switzerland too. We leave Siegi that has given us so much and we lived here the last 2 months. Thank you for everything Siegi!
Since the paper work needs more time than we thought, we go back to Nathan and warm ourselves next to the oven and enjoy his fantastic cooking skills. When we are able to organize the remaining documents, we do not yet know. Let’s see ….. ********************** Die Geburtsurkunde ist im Moment eines der wichtigsten Dokumente. Es ist die Basis für alle anderen Papiere die wir brauchen. Francesca will als ersten Leonardo in Italien registrieren lassen und ggf. einen Italienischen Pass beantragen. Dazu brauchen wir eine zweite Geburtsurkunde mit einem Apostille. Ein Apostille ist eine Beglaubigung der Australischen Behörde, dass die Geburtsurkunde von der Australischen Behörde gültig ist!??!? Ich erwarte von keinem, dass er dies versteht. Dann brauchen wir noch eine Übersetzung der Geburtsurkunde ins Italienische und damit gehen wir in Italienische Konsulat. Die stellen uns sofort einen Pass aus, machen aber darauf aufmerksam, dass wir die Registrierung in Italien machen müssen und dazu nochmals eine Geburtsurkunde brauchen (natürlich mit Apostille, die jeweils 60$ kostet). Als nächstes müssen wir zur Immigration um ein Visum zu beantragen, denn bis jetzt ist Leonardo sozusagen illegal hier J Bisher sind wir rund 300Km in der Stadt von Melbourne innerhalb von 3 Tagen herumgefahren und haben schon viel erreicht. Jedoch ist es erst ca. die hälfte, denn Leonardo muss noch in der Schweiz registriert werden. Wir verlassen Siegi, die uns so viel gegeben hat und wir die letzten 2 Monate lebten. Vielen Dank für alles Siegi! Da die Papierarbeit mehr Zeit braucht als gedacht, gehen wir zurück zu Nathan und wärmen uns an Ofen auf und geniessen seine fantastischen Kochkünste. The current problems are for a Round The World Traveler normal and of course there is always a solution. I wanted to show the problems, to show you what you can expect on such a journey, and it shows to me that I’m back on the travel. Even we still have to wait a bit, I am happy that we are back on the road soon. Now for the problems: Nathan shows me a photo and electric shop where I can check the function of the camera first and then buy a special charger. So I can use the camera without USB connector. Meanwhile, the birth certificate has arrived and we can continue with the remaining paperwork. After a long time we are talking once again about the plan. Wow, what a great feeling! Even if it is only planning for the next one to two months, it’s fun to collect ideas, check costs and to create a timetable. We don’t like the cold temperatures that are in southern Australia and we like to go to the north as quickly as possible. For the long-term planning we have already ideas and wishes if we cancel the trip or be continued. Also to where and how we want to travel further, if we continue. But I don’t want to write about it yet, as I have never written in the past, what I have planned next. I want to prevent something I promise that I cannot keep, and of course to keep the tension. ********************** Die aktuellen Probleme sind für einen Round The World Traveler Alltag und es gibt natürlich immer eine Lösung dazu. Ich wollte mit den Problemen zeigen, was dich auf einer solchen Reise erwartet und es zeigt mir, dass ich wieder auf der Reise zurück bin. Auch wenn wir noch etwas warten müssen, freut es mich besonders dass es bald weitergeht. Nun zu den Problemen: Nathan zeigt mir ein Foto- und Spezialladen wo ich zuerst die Funktion der Kamera überprüfen kann und dann ein Spezialladegeräte kaufe. So kann ich die Kamera benutzen auch ohne USB Stecker. Unterdessen ist auch die Geburtsurkunde angekommen und wir können mit den restlichen Papierarbeiten weitermachen. Nach langer Zeit sprechen wir wieder einmal über die Planung. Wow, was für ein tolle Gefühl! Auch wenn es nur die Planung für die nächsten ein bis zwei Monate ist, macht es Spass Ideen zu sammeln, Kosten überprüfen und einen Terminplan auf zu stellen. Wir mögen die kalten Temperaturen die im Süden von Australien herrschen nicht und möchten möglichst schnell etwas in den Norden. Für die Langfristigere Planung haben wir auch schon Ideen und klarere Vorstellungen ob wir die Reise abbrechen oder fortsetzten werden. Und wo und wie wir ggf. weiterreisen wollen. Ich möchte aber darüber noch nicht schreiben, wie ich auch in der Vergangenheit nie geschrieben habe was ich als nächstes geplant habe. Ich möchte nichts versprechen, dass ich nicht halten kann und natürlich die Spannung aufrechterhalten

Dromana, Australia 28.5.2015 Dromana, Australia Km: 4878 Again only problems / Wieder nur Probleme After the exciting and relaxing last 2 weeks I fall back into the old days. We still do not know where we are going next. Impatiently, we are still waiting for the birth certificate, I should arrive before days. Then we have to get a passport and need some documents and a JP. We think about what our next country and how things are with the Visa.
Then we go to the beach and I’m doing some great photos. Unfortunately, the battery is quickly empty and I put on the charging cable. This causes a short circuit in the camera and scorched by the cable. When pulling out, I pull out the half of the connector from the camera, so that I can see immediately that this is not beyond repair.
I am therefore again in exactly the same situation as before, many problems and no solutions for …. ********************** Nach den spannenden und erholsamen letzten 2 Wochen falle ich wieder zurück in die alte Zeit. Immer noch wissen wir nicht wohin wir als nächstes gehen. Ungeduldig, warten wir noch auf die Geburtsurkunde, die ich schon vor Tage angekommen sein müsste. Dann müssen wir einen Pass besorgen und brauchen dazu noch einige Dokumente und ein JP. Wir überlegen uns welches unser nächstes Land ist und wie es da mit den Visa aussieht. Dann gehen wir zu Strand und ich mache einige tolle Fotos. Leider ist der Akkus schnell leer und ich stecke das Ladekabel an. Dies verursacht einen Kurzschluss in der Kamera und schmort das Kabel durch. Beim Herausziehen, ziehe ich den halben Stecker aus der Kamera, so dass ich sofort merke dass dies nicht mehr zu reparieren ist. Ich bin somit wieder in der genau gleichen Situation als zuvor, Viele Probleme und noch keine Lösungen dafür….

Not an easy time / Keine einfache Zeit Dromana, Australia

Dromana, Australia 24.5.2015 Dromana, Australia Km: 4766 Not an easy time / Keine einfache Zeit We all are doing very well after birth and so the hospital lets us go home after 2 days. We often meet other mothers in the hospital and all have had any complications. This shows us how we lucky we are and how grateful we must be for it.
We do not go on the direct route home, but will visit Nathan and go shopping shortly. We need at least another dress because Leonardo is very small. Then we drive to Dromana and the next day comes a midwife visit us to see if everything is ok. Then we have to go shopping, cook and, leave the apartment and go to campervan. Then 2 midwives come on the same day and the ‘little’ just wants to eat all day long. We bring everything together, even if we need a lot more time for everything.
At the moment I would like, if I could play with Leonardo longer. But after eating 18 hours, sleep 8 hours, ½ hour change nappies, he do not have much time for me. But I am still happy, as other fathers have only a few days or weeks holidays, and I can support further Francesca and spend again some time with the little patatina.

What we still don’t know is how to go now? ********************** Uns allen geht es nach der Geburt sehr gut und so lassen das Spital lässt uns nach 2 Tagen nach Hause gehen. Wir treffen immer wieder andere Mütter im Spital und alle haben irgendwelche Komplikationen gehabt. Dies zeigt uns wir gut es uns geht und wie dankbar wir dafür sein müssen. Wir gehen nicht auf dem direkten Weg nach Hause, sondern besuchen noch Nathan und gehen noch kurz einkaufen. Wir brauchen mindestens noch ein Kleid, da Leonardo sehr klein ist. Dann fahren wir nach Dromana und schon am nächsten Tag kommt eine Midwife uns besuchen um zu schauen ob alles ok ist. Dann müssen wir noch einkaufen, kochen waschen, die Wohnung verlassen und in den Campervan ziehen. Dann kommen 2 Hebammen am gleichen Tag und der Kleine will den ganzen Tag nur fressen. Wir bringen aber alles unter einen Hut, auch wenn wir für alles viel mehr Zeit brauchen. Im Moment hätte ich gerne, wenn ich länger mit Leonardo spielen könnte. Aber nach 18 Stunden lang fressen, 8 Stunden schlafen, ½ Stunde Windeln wechseln, bleibt nicht mehr viel Zeit für mich. Ich bin aber trotzdem glücklich, da andere Väter nur einige Tage oder Wochen Ferien haben, und ich kann bis auf weiteres Francesca unterstützen kann und immer wieder etwas Zeit mit dem kleinen Patatina verbringen. Was wir immer noch nicht wissen ist, wie es weiter gehen soll?

Frankston, Australia 14.5.2015 Frankston, Australia Km: 4566 He arrived / Er ist angekommen I have planned, that the birth is on the 14th, that is on the same day as mine is. The calculated date is the 12th, but I have not told anyone. It is amazing that this has no one controlled ever in the hospital. It seems to be that also the ‘little’ does not know that he should slip now. The doctors sais, because of the age of Francesca we need to talk about an introduction. Then he looks when an appointment is free and asks us you like the baby on the 14th or on the 15th? 🙂 But then it is no longer going according to the plan. They sent us home although the contractions already started. For me as an engineer it is still difficult to take in such situations, a good decision, because as a midwife I have no education. When I called the hospital, they ask me if it is the first child, then we will we will see what happens the next hour. Sometime we decided to go to the hospital and 20 minutes later the little Leonardo has seen the light on earth. He just needs a few seconds until he announce with a little cry that he is now there and we should cover him, because here it’s damn cold outside. And if we do not do it, he’ll go back again! After the boring time of pregnancy, this is a very positive experience for me. Just in the world and it works all fine. Then the hospital staff leaves us alone in the small room and he spends all the time with us. For me, it’s one of the best moments of the whole trip. The world around disappears and the thoughts are amazed at Francesca and Leonardo.

A little later we can go into a proper room and we try to get some sleep. We wake up again 2-3 hours later. Next to us is still Leonardo and we know that a new phase of our life begins. At the moment, we know just as little as the story goes on and on are just as excited as you are. ********************** Ich habe geplant, dass die Geburt am 14., also am gleichen Tag wie meiner ist. Der errechnete Termin ist der 12., doch das habe ich niemandem gesagt. Erstaunlich ist, dass dies niemand kontrolliert hat ob das auch stimmt. Scheinbar weiss auch der Kleine nicht dass er jetzt schlüpfen soll Die Ärzte meinten, wegen des Alters von Francesca müssen wir über eine Einleitung sprechen. Dann schaut er wann ein Termin frei ist und fragt uns wollt ihr das Baby am 14. oder am 15. ? 🙂 Dann aber lief es nicht mehr nach Plan. Sie schickten uns nach Hause obwohl die Wehen bereits einsetzten. Für mich als Engineer ist es noch schwierig in solchen Situationen eine gute Entscheidung zu treffen, denn als Hebamme habe ich keine Ausbildung. Als ich im Spital anrufe, fragen sie mich ob es das erste Kind ist, dann sollen wir mal die nächste Stunde schauen was passiert. Irgendwann haben wir trotzdem entschieden ins Spital zu gehen und 20 Minuten danach hat der kleine Leonardo das Licht auf unserer Erde erblickt. Er braucht nur einige Sekunden bis er mit einem kleinen Schrei bekannt gibt, dass er jetzt da ist und wir ihn zudecken sollen, denn hier draussen ist es verdammt kalt. Und wenn wir es nicht tun gehe er wieder zurück! Nach der langweiligen Zeit der Schwangerschaft ist dies eine sehr positive Erfahrung für mich. Kaum auf der Welt und es funktioniert alles. Die ganze Zeit ist der Kleine bei uns und das Krankenhauspersonal lässt uns alleine in dem kleinen Raum. Für mich einer der schönsten Momente der ganzen Reise. Die Welt herum verschwinden und die Gedanken sind staunend bei Francesca und Leonardo. Etwas später dürfen wir in ein Richtiges Zimmer und wir versuchen noch etwas zu schlafen. Wir erwachen 2-3 Stunden später wieder. Neben uns ist immer noch Leonardo und wir wissen, dass ein neuer Abschnitt unseres Lebens beginnt. Im Moment wissen wir genau so wenig wie die Geschichte weiter geht und sind darauf genauso gespannt wie ihr. Check up‘s / Untersuchungen Dromana, Australia

Dromana, Australia 11.5.2015 Dromana, Australia Km: 4415 Check up’s / Untersuchungen The due date is more and more close and we still need to do some check up’s. For this we must always go to the hospital to Frankston and we need a lot of time. Most comes not out much new. Liver function tests are a little too high and should be monitored. Streptococcus test is positive and the GP will start to talk about an initiation with us. Francesca but feels good and we look forward to the future, because we are ready and waiting for him.
We have a bit of luck and see for the first time a doctor or midwife 2 times. Previously we have only seen, through the travel, each for one time. All Examine left some mentally traces. Francesca doesn’t like a hospital in general and every doctor fined something what is not ok and could cause problems. They make you sick. On the other hand I like transparency and openness. We discuss a lot about these visits and ask ourselves what would happen if someone will be a gynecologist, but has to short fingers? ********************** Der Geburtstermin rückt immer näher und wir müssen noch einige Untersuchen machen. Dazu müssen wir immer nach Frankston ins Spital fahren und brauchen dazu viel Zeit. Meisten kommt dabei nicht viel Neues heraus. Die Leberwerte sind etwas zu hoch und müssen überwacht werden. Streptokokken Test ist positiv und der GP beginnt mit uns über eine Einleitung zu sprechen. Francesca fühlt sich aber gut und wir schauen positiv in die Zukunft, denn wir sind bereit und warten auf ihn. Wir haben etwas Glück und sehen zum ersten Mal einen Doktor oder Hebamme 2 Mal. Zuvor haben wir, durch das viele Reisen jeder nur gerade einmal gesehen. All die Untersuchen haben mental Spuren hinterlassen. Francesca mag ein Hospital grundsätzlich nicht und jeder Doktor findet was heraus, was nicht so gut ist und Probleme machen könnte. Die machen dich krank. Auf der anderen Seite mag ich Transparenz und Offenheit. Wir diskutieren viel über diese Besuche und fragen uns, was passiert, wenn einer Gynäkologe werden will, aber zu kurze Finger hat?

2 year anniversary / 2 Jähriges Jubiläum Dromana, Australia

Dromana, Australia 6.5.2015 Dromana, Australia Km: 4289 2 year anniversary / 2 Jähriges Jubiläum May 6, 2013 11:45, I leave from Cham, on a trip around the world. Where it will drive me, I do not know. How long will I be on the road, I do not know. What will I experience along the way, I do not know.
Now exactly 2 years have passed since this somewhat gloomy Monday morning in Switzerland. Also this morning, it is somewhat cloudy and it rains a little. But when I get up, I feel not like in Cham, that it is a special day. However, meanwhile has changed a lot. I have a lot of exciting experiences in Russia and Central Asia collected. I’ve beaten me thru Iraq, Iran and Pakistan, I learned India and cross Southeast Asia. In a small accident and the death of my father I saw another side of life. Then I’ve been 1 ½ years no longer alone and so the journey went with Francesca to Australia on. Since we realized that we sometimes want to do something right, so what with hands and feet. Soon our son will accompany us on the journey. Whether it drives his own motorcycle or traveling as a passenger, we do not know yet…. Wow, what a trip and what a story! So spectacular is the story so unspectacular I celebrate the anniversary. I bake a cake and Francesca cook pasta. How the story continues, I do not know yet. Whether we travel on, or coming home soon will become clear in the near future and should be read on this blog. ********************** 6. Mai 2013 11:45, ich fahre von Cham ab, auf eine Reise rund um die Welt. Wohin es mich treiben wird, weiss ich nicht. Wie lange ich unterwegs sein werde, weiss ich nicht. Was ich auf dem Weg erleben werde, weiss ich nicht. Nun sind genau 2 Jahre vergangen seit diesem etwas trüben Montagmorgen in der Schweiz. Auch an diesem Morgen ist es etwas trüb und es regnet ein wenig. Beim Aufstehen verspüre ich aber nicht wie in Cham, dass es ein besonderer Tag ist. Allerdings hat sich unterdessen viel verändert. Ich habe viele spannende Erfahrungen in Russland und Zentralasien gesammelt. Ich habe mich durch den Irak, Iran und Pakistan geschlagen, habe Indien kennengelernt und Südostasien durchreist. Bei einem kleinen Unfall und dem Tod meines Vaters habe ich auch eine andere Seite des Lebens gesehen. Dann bin ich seit 1 ½ Jahren nicht mehr alleine unterwegs und so ging die Reise mit Francesca bis nach Australien weiter. Da haben wir gemerkt, dass wir mal was Richtiges machen wollen, also was mit Händen und Füssen. Bald wird unser Sohn uns auf der Reise begleiten. Ob er ein eigenes Motorrad fährt oder als Sozius reist, wissen wir noch nicht…. Wow, was für eine Reise und was für eine Geschichte! So spektakulär die Geschichte ist, so unspektakulär feiere ich das Jubiläum. Ich backe einen Kuchen und Francesca kocht Pasta. Wie die Geschichte weiter geht weiss ich noch nicht. Ob wir weiterreisen oder bald nach Hause kommen wird sich in der nächsten Zeit zeigen und ist auf diesem Blog zu lesen.

Labor Day / Tag der Arbeit Dromana, Australia

Dromana, Australia 1.5.2015 Dromana, Australia Km: 4110 Labor Day / Tag der Arbeit At the moment there is not much to do. The only thing we have to do is waiting. This is boring and so we do each morning a walk and see if the kangaroos are back. I’ll help our colleague in home remodeling. Install fire protection and installing windows. Personally, I am building the kitchen in campervan. The plan I have: marble work surfaces, sink, gas installation for the fridge, stove, shower, microwave, extractor fan, drawers, a dishwasher and a whirlpool. Then a babybed, electrical wiring throughout the vehicle, curtains and a wood oven. Let’s see what I can do in the next time. In between, we go from time to time to the hospital. Unfortunately, doctors do not have such a delight to us, because we should go much more often! So the doctors say and we go only if it makes sense from our point of view and not to fill the wallet of the doctors.
In the evening I program a little on the laptop. I’m trying to learn PHP and must first find a good debugger. Let’s see if I am making progress and I can use it later. ********************** Im Moment gibt es nicht viel zu machen. Das Einzige das wir machen müssen, ist warten. Das ist langweilig und so machen wir jeweils am Morgen einen kleinen Spaziergang und schauen ob die Kängurus wieder da sind. Dann helfe ich unserer Kollegin beim Hausumbau. Feuerschutz installieren und Fenster einbauen. Selber baue ich die Küche im Campervan um. Geplant habe ich: Marmor-Arbeitsfläche, Schüttstein, Gasinstallation für den Kühlschrank, Herdplatte, Dusche, Mikrowelle, Dampfabzug, Schubladen, Geschirrspüler und ein Whirlpool. Dann ein Kinderbett, Elektroinstallation im ganzen Fahrzeug, Vorhänge und ein Holzofen. Mal sehen was ich alles einbauen kann. Zwischendurch gehen wir ab und zu Mal ins Spital. Leider haben die Ärzte nicht so eine Freude an uns, da wir viel öfters gehen sollten! Also das meinen die Ärzte und wir gehen nur, wenn es aus unserer Sicht sinnvoll ist und nicht um die Kassen der Ärzte zu füllen. Am Abend programmiere ich noch etwas auf dem Laptop herum. Ich versuche etwas PHP zu lernen und muss zuerst einen guten Debugger finden. Mal sehen ob ich Fortschritte mache und dies einmal anwenden kann.

Dromana, Australia 20.4.2015 Dromana, Australia Km: 3736 Waiting / Warten The way back to Dromana runs without problems and the problem with the cooling water temperature is solved.
From now on we have to wait and wait. We should not be removed too far from the hospital anymore and this is a boring time for us. There is not much to do and so we can help to our colleague where we can live, to building at the house. Meanwhile, temperatures are again fallen and for us it’s really too cold. At the moment it is cloudy and therefore the right time even to sleep for a few days …. ********************** Die Heimfahrt nach Dromana verläuft ohne Probleme und das Problem mit der Kühlwassertemperatur ist gelöst. Für uns heisst es nun warten, und warten. Das wir uns nicht mehr allzu weit vom Spital entfernen sollten, ist dies für uns eine langweilige Zeit. Es gibt nicht viel zu tun du so helfen wir unserer Kollegin wo wir wohnen können, beim Hausbau. Unterdessen sind die Temperaturen wieder gefallen und für uns ist es eigentlich zu kalt. Again stop and wait, fill water and continue. Then the usual game. After every 30 kilometers refill water. Meanwhile, I am a little impatient and this time I open the cap too early. Since the water is still boiling hot, it squirts like a geyser out. I must say that the engine is under the passenger seat and the water is distributed throughout the cockpit! I’m trying to find something to stop the fountain, but too late. Meanwhile, all the water is out and everything is wet!

But there is no other way than to replenish and continue. After another 10 kilometers, the temperature rises again to a little and but goes down again. I just drive on and wait until the temperature rises again later. 20 Km, 40 Km, 60, 80, 100, 120 Km and still everything ok!?! Wow, the problem is solved. No idea why, but who cares.
My mood is much better and that we can normally go back home. Or is there again a problem? ********************** Wir starten gut und nach 30 Kilometer schauen wir gespannt auf die Temperaturanzeige. Alle ok! Nach 40 Km immer noch alles gut. 50 Km auch gut und ebenso nach 60 Km es scheint, dass wir das Problem mit der neuen Verschlusskappe gelöst haben. Km: 62, die Temperatur ist wieder zu hoch! Shi… Wieder anhalten und warten, Wasser auffüllen und weiter fahren. Dann das übliche Spiel. Jeweils nach 30 Kilometer wieder Wasser auffüllen. Unterdessen bin ich etwas ungeduldig und diesmal öffne ich den Decken viel zu früh. Da das Wasser immer noch kochend heiss ist, spritzt es wie bei einem Geysir heraus. Dazu muss ich sagen, dass der Motor gleich unter dem Beifahrersitz ist und das Wasser somit im ganzen Cockpit verteilt ist! Ich versuche gleich etwas zu finden um die Fontäne zu stoppen, doch zu spät. Unterdessen ist das ganze Wasser draussen und alles ist nass! … meine Stimmung ist mittlerweile weit unter null gesunken… Aber es gibt kein anderer Weg als wieder auffüllen und weiterfahren. Nach weiteren 10 Kilometern steigt die Temperatur nochmals ein wenig an und geht aber wieder herunter. Ich fahre einfach weiter und warte bis die Temperatur wieder höher ansteigt. 20 Km, 40 Km, 60, 80, 100, 120 Km und immer noch alles ok!?! Wow, das Problem ist gelöst. Keine Ahnung warum, aber wen interessiert es. Meine Stimmung ist wieder viel besser und wir können ganz normal zurück nach Hause fahren. Oder gibt es doch nochmals ein Problem?

After 5 times stopping, we arrive in a small village and we are looking for the mechanic. He cannot find anything and refill the water. We drive on and after 35 kilometer; the temperature is again too high. Again wait and fill up with water. This happen about 8 times until we get to Mount Gambier!
The next morning we go to a mechanic to ask what the problem is and how it looks with the registry. Then we go to the registrar and ask if we can use the vehicle to register. Yes, of course, the woman says. Without inspection? I asked. She answers: yes, why an inspection?! It is indeed only to the registration for the next year. Although we still need a little inspection because we have unscrewed the seats in the back, but can register the campervan without Road worth Certificate. Our plan is therefore a complete success.

Nachdem wir irgendwo übernachtet haben fahren wir los und 20 Kilometer später steigt die Temperatur des Kühlwassers an. Sie geht so hoch, dass ich anhalten muss. Nach 25 Minuten ist der Motor etwas abgekühlt und ich kann wieder 2 Kilometer fahren. Dann wieder warten und, und, und…. Nach 5 Mal anhalten, kommen wie in ein kleines Dorf uns suchen den Mechaniker. Der kann nichts finden und füllt wieder Wasser auf. Wir fahren weiter und nach 35 Kilometer ist die Temperatur wieder zu hoch. Wieder warten und Wasser auffüllen. Dies mache ich ca. 8 Mal bis wir in Mount Gambier ankommen! Am nächsten Morgen gehen wir zu einem Mechaniker um zu fragen was das Problem ist und wie es mit der Registrierung aussieht. Danach gehen wir zur Registrierungsstelle und fragen ob wir das Fahrzeug um Registrieren können. Ja natürlich, meine die Frau. Ohne Inspektion? Fragte ich. Drauf meine Sie: nein, warum eine Inspektion. Es geht ja nur um die Registrierung für das nächste Jahr. Zwar brauchen wir noch eine kleine Inspektion weil wir die Sitze herausgeschraubt haben, können aber den Campervan ohne Road Worth Certificate registrien. Unser Plan ist somit voll aufgegangen. Wieder einmal, denn wir entscheiden, das Kind nicht in Sydney zu gebären. Dies bedeutet aber auch, der ganze Prozess geht wieder von vorne los. Diesmal war es aber ein wenig einfacher und in dem kleinen Spital von Rosebud sind alle super nett. Wir müssen aber trotzdem noch nach Frankston um einen Besuch beim GP zu machen. Es scheint, dass in Victoria we***** Administration nötig ist und wir fühlen uns das erste Mal relaxed nachdem wir einen Arztbesuch hinter uns haben. In Sydney waren wir nach den Spitalbesuchen immer gestresst, haben mehr Ängste als zu vor und sind oft verunsichert. Einige Tage später Spürt Francesca schmerzen im Bauch. So fest, dass wir entscheiden ins Spital zu gehen. Aber es ist nicht so schlimm, so dass es ihr bald besser geht und wir wieder nach Hause fahren. Als nächstes müssen wir den Van neu registrieren, mal sehen ob dies gelingt?

Tungamah, Australia 23.3.2015 Tungamah, Australia Km: 904 Crazy camper / Verrückter Camper We meet a camper on a lovely warm and sunny evening somewhere on the Murray River. As we park our campervan next to his motorhome he come straight to us and says, “Go away, I do not want you here, goes back there!” Ups. We always say that people are particularly in Australia. Very friendly, open to a conversation and generous. Many times someone offered cold water or from time to time for a cold beer. We have had numerous nice small talks somewhere where we rested. It seems that we are now encountered an exception today.

It is a pity that he has destroyed my funny plan with releasing the air from his tires. ********************** Wir treffen einen Camper an einem herrlich warmen und sonnigen Abend irgendwo am Murray River. Als wir mit unserem Campervan, neben seinem Motorhome parken kommt er gleich zu uns und sagt: „geht weg, ich will euch nicht hier, geht nach dort hinten”! Ups. Wir sagen immer, dass in Australien die Leute besonders sind. Sehr freundlich, offen für ein Gespräch und grosszügig. Viele male wurde uns kaltes Wasser angeboten oder auch immer wieder mal ein Bier. Wir hatten unzählige nette Small talks irgendwo wo wir rasteten. Es scheint, dass wir heute auf eine Ausnahme gestossen sind. Natürlich bleibe ich in einer solchen Situation erst einmal ruhig. Er kommt dann 5 Minuten später noch einmal vorbeigekommen. Ohne Hallo oder Bitte, sagte er wieder „geht weg ich will euch nicht hier, denn ich will den Lärm nicht von diesen Campervan Türen. Die ganze Nacht auf, zu, auf, zu, ich will das nicht. Ich werde die Polizei rufen und den Generator neben uns laufen lasse“. Ich bleibe aber die ganze Zeit ruhig und überlege ob er ohne Luft in den Reifen weiterfahren kann! Später erkläre ich ihm, dass ich ihn verstehe (ok, ich verstehe ihn nicht wirklich) aber mich stört wie er es sagte dass er uns hier nicht will. Da wir gerne Morgensonne haben, parkiere ich noch um. Gleich etwas später kommt er wieder mit 2 Biers in der Hand. Es ist wohl seine Art Entschuldigung zu sagen. Da Gespräch ist dann relaxt und ich geniesse das Bier. Schade ist nur, dass er mein lustiger Plan mit der Lust rauslassen zerstört hat.

Campshower / Campingdusche Maloneys Beach, Australia

The next day I will rebuild the campervan a bit. I start with the kitchen and remove the seats in the back. After having a discussion how we like to build the kitchen, I’m making good progress and remains in sufficient time to test the new Camp Shower. The shower has a small pump which I can connect to the 12 volt battery. Then I cook water on the stove and mix it with cold water in a bucket. What a wonderful feeling after a few days on the road to enjoy once again a shower. In the evening I cook ‘Rösti’ (a traditional Swiss meal made with potatoes) and sausage with a brow onion sauce and we enjoy the evening in the middle of nature. ********************** Wir erreichen wieder die Küste und übernachten auf einem sehr gemütlichen Campspot. Am nächsten Tag will ich den Campervan etwas umbauen. Ich starte mit der Küche und entferne die Sitzbank. Nachdem wir einen halben Tag lang diskutiert haben, wie wir es machen wollen, komme ich gut voran und so bleibt genügend Zeit um die neue Campshower aus zu probieren. Die Dusche hat eine kleine Pumpe die ich an die 12 Volt Batterie anschliessen kann. Dann koche ich Wasser auf dem Herd und mixe es mit kaltem Wasser in einem Eimer. Was für ein herrliches Gefühl nach einigen Tagen unterwegs zu sein wieder einmal eine Dusche zu geniessen. Am Abend koche ich Bratwurst Rösti und wir geniessen den Abend mitten in der Natur.

Odyssey / Irrfahrten Canberra, Australia

Then we go into a recycling center in the south to buy things for the camper van. Then again, thru the whole city because the hardware store and camping shop is in the north and we have previously not planned properly. Then we go back to the south of the city in another recycling center to continue shopping. Then we find out that we have bought the wrong lamp in the camping shop and want to exchange them. So we drive back through the whole city to the north. And of course, again to the south, because we want to continue travel from there. Because Canberra is very large, we have made over 200 km in the city and had a beautiful sightseeing. But we lost also a lot of time and I do not know when I can mount everything we purchased. ********************** Auf unserem Weg kommen wir in Canberra an. Wir fahren etwas in der Stadt herum und stoppen beim Visitor Center. Nicht um uns zu informieren, sondern um eine gratis Dusche zu nehmen. Dann gehen wir in ein Recycling Center im Süden um Sachen für den Camper Van zu kaufen. Dann wieder durch die ganze Stadt, da der Baumarkt und Campingshop im Norden ist und wir zuvor nicht richtig geplant haben. Danach fahren wir wieder in den Süden der Stadt um in einem anderen Recycling Center weiter ein zu kaufen. Dann stellen wir fest, dass wir im Campingshop die Falsche Lampe gekauft haben und diese umtauschen wollen. Also wieder durch die ganze Stadt in den Norden und natürlich wieder in den Süden, da wir von dort weiterreisen wollen. Da Canberra sehr weitläufig ist haben wir über 200 Kilometer in der Stadt gemacht und haben somit einen schöne Stadtbesichtigung gehabt. Wie haben aber auch viel Zeit verloren und ich weiss nicht wann ich alles Eingekaufte einbauen kann.

We make the last shopping’s and got the evening in a violent thunderstorm. We stay at the Blue Mountain on a camping with some trees. From this it drops all night on the roof, so I cannot sleep properly. The next day it was still raining. Just the right weather to drive on. The Camper Van brings some benefits, but is not the same as on the bike. Whether we will appreciate with time, let’s see…. ********************** Wir können endlich den Camper Van abholen und fahren am nächsten Tag los. Wir machen noch die letzten Einkäufe und geraten am Abend in ein heftiges Gewitter. Wir übernachten in den Blue Mountain auf einem Camping mit einigen Bäumen. Von diesen tropf es die ganze Nacht auf das Dach, so dass ich nicht richtig schlafen kann. Am nächsten Tag regnet es immer noch. Genau das richtige Wetter um weiter zu fahren. Der Camper Van bringt einige Vorteile, ist aber nicht mehr dasselbe wie auf dem Motorrad. Ob wir es mit der Zeit schätzen werden, mal sehen….

For this we go into the pathology and then to the hospital. Although we meat 2 great people today, we are all stressed out again as we left the hospital. The visit to the gynecologist was a waste of time and he made us fear. We expect that our fears are taken, are we know more. Instead, we must again make some tests that are not necessary in my view. It is probably not only the patient’s fault, why health care costs are rising. We have already once said that we want to change the hospital, but suddenly wants Francesca rather stay here. How to do this again, I do not know at the moment. ********************** Auf dem Programm stehen noch einige Gesundheit Untersuchungen für Francesca. Dazu gehen wir in die Pathologie und danach ins Spital. Obwohl wir heute 2 tolle Leute getroffen haben, sind wir über alles wieder gestresst als wir das Spital verlassen. Der Besuch beim Gynäkologen war reine Zeitverschwendung und Angst machen des Doktors. Wir erwarten, dass uns Ängste genommen werden, wir beruhigt sind, mehr wissen. Stattdessen müssen wir wieder einige Untersuchungen machen, die aus meiner Sicht nicht nötig sind. Es sind wohl nicht nur die Patienten schuld, warum die Gesundheitskosten ständig steigen. Wir haben schon früher mal gesagt, dass wir das Spital wechseln wollen, doch auf einmal will Francesca eher hier bleiben. Wie es damit weiter geht, weiss ich im Moment nicht.
