Should I modify the cam or add an additional disc to reduce the distance. If I modify the cam I need to later buy a new one. So I opt for the disk, looking for a metalworker. I find one and he cuts with the Flex a disc out of a sheet of metal. The slots I file itself and buy for his a new file. But this does not last long and is not worth the money. But, whatever? When I’m done, go back and mount the new disc. Well, it should work, but I have to do a test drive to see this. Since I have removed the sidecar I have never ride the bike solo and I have some fear for the test drive. I hope that I do not lose the balance….
The test drive succeeds and shows that it works in principle, but the question is how long? The new disk is not made by hardened steel, and it will be worn out fast. How long we can continue with the repaired clutch? Well, we will see….
After 2 days of hard work I need a rest day and then we try to move on. ********************** Der Mechaniker und all die anderen Lokalen sind leider keine Hilfe und alle sagen ‚no‘ wenn ich etwas Frage. Für mich gibt es nur eine Lösung: kreativ zu sein und zu improvisieren und etwas zu konstruieren. Ich überlege, ob ich die Hülse abdrehen will oder eine zusätzliche Scheibe konstruiere um die Distanz zu verkleinern. Wenn ich die Hülse abdrehe muss ich später eine neue Nabe kaufen. So entscheide ich mich für die Scheibe und suche einen Schlosser. Ich finde einen und er schneidet mit der Flex eine Scheibe aus einem Stück Blech. Die Verzahnung feile ich selbst und kaufe dazu eine neue Feile. Diese hält aber nicht lange und ist das Geld nicht wert. Aber was soll‘s? Als ich fertig bin, gehe zurück und baue die neue Scheibe ein. Eigentlich sollte es funktionieren, aber ich muss eine Probefahrt machen um dies zu sehen. Da ich den Seitenwagen demontiert habe muss ich die Probefahrt solo machen und davor habe ich etwas Angst. Ich bin seit langem nicht mehr Solo gefahren und hoffe dass ich nicht die Balance verliere. Die Probefahrt gelingt und zeigt, dass es grundsätzlich funktioniert, die Frage ist aber wie lange? Die neue Scheibe ist nicht aus gehärtetem Stahl und somit der Verschleiss gross. Wie weit werde wir mit der reparierten Kupplung wohl kommen…. Nach 2 Tagen harter Arbeit brauche ich noch einen Ruhetag und dann geht es weiter.
