Is it dangerous in the US / Gefährliche USA ?

San Diego, CA 03.11.2015 San Diego, USA Km: 100347 Is it dangerous in the US? / Ist es in den USA gefährlich? The question appeared for quite some time. If we tell to someone that we go to Mexico, most say in the US, that it is dangerous there, and we must be careful. Then we see the police, which is equipped with bullet-proof vests and armed to the teeth. I wonder if it’s here in the US really so dangerous that the police have to walk around like that? In front of a jewelry store I saw a security man who is armed as well. I remember the bazaar of Tabriz (Iran). There are more than 50 jewelry shops where many kilos of gold are stored and I have not seen a single security guard or police.
In the US, are most people in prison in percentage of the populations. But this does not mean that there are most crimes. I feel like in many countries (eg. Iraq and Iran). We have a false image of these countries, as the news report the negative and bad side only. This is also true for the US. I feel safe and meet a lot of nice, helpful and friendly people.
Also interesting are the safety of a school bus. So the all traffic must stop, when someone gets out of the school bus. This is one of the laws that make the school bus as the safest transport around the world. Too bad, that the saved lives are then compensated with rampages at universities…. ********************** Die Frage beschäftigt uns schon seit längerem. Wenn wir erzählen, dass wir nach Mexico gehen, sagen die meisten in den USA, dass es dort Gefährlich ist und wir aufpassen müssen. Dann sehen wir die Polizei, die mit schusssicheren Westen ausgerüstet und bis auf die Zähne bewaffnet ist. Ich frage mich ob es hier in den USA wirklich so gefährlich ist, dass die Polizei so herumlaufen muss? Vor einem Schmuckgeschäft habe ich ein Sicherheitsmann gesehen, der genauso bewaffnet ist. Ich erinnere mich an den Bazar von Tabriz (Iran). Dort hat es um die 50 Schmuckgeschäfte wo viele Kilo Gold gelagert sind und ich habe keinen einzigen Sicherheitsmann oder Polizei gesehen. In den USA sind prozentual zur Bevölkerung am meisten Leute im Gefängnis. Dies bedeutet aber auch nicht das es am meisten Verbrechen gibt. Ich fühle mich wie in vielen Ländern (bsp. Irak und Iran). Wir haben ein falsches Bild von diesen Ländern, da die Nachrichten einseitig und vor allem negativ berichten. Dies gilt auch für die USA. Ich fühle mich sicher und treffe viele nette, hilfsbereite und freundliche Menschen. Interessant sind auch die Sicherheitsvorschriften mit einem Schulbus. So muss der ganze Verkehr anhalten, wenn jemand aus dem Schulbus steigt. Dies ist eine Vorschrift, die den Schulbus als sicherstes Verkehrsmittel auf der ganzen Welt macht. Schade, dass die geretteten Leben dann mit Amokläufen an Universitäten wieder kompensiert werden….
