As usual, I cannot sleep properly on the plane and arrive a bit tired in South Africa. I have some concerns about customs formalities. Moreover, I have not been informed whether I need a visa or not. Yeah, I’ll be lazy … But it all goes well and I’m just coming through immigration and customs. Then I try to get the bike off. The first problem is that they do not want me to enter the Cargo area. But the people are nice and call an agent who tries to help me. I’m trying to make it clear that I do not need a clearance agent because I have a carnet de passage. He says I need him and so I go to customs to ask. Unfortunately, the only person who knows is not there and so I have to go again tomorrow. Let’s see if it works then…

Wie immer kann ich im Flugzeug nicht richtig schlafen und komme etwas müde in Süd Afrika an. Ich habe etwas Bedenken wegen den Zollformalitäten. Zudem habe ich mich nicht informiert, ob ich ein Visum brauche oder nicht. Ja, ich werde etwas lasch… Aber es geht alles gut und ich komme einfach durch die Immigration und Zoll. Dann versuche ich gleich das Motorrad ab zu holen. Dabei ist das erste Problem, dass sie mich nicht in den Cargobereich einlassen wollen. Aber die Leute sind nett und rufen einen Agent an, der mir zu helfen versucht. Ich versuche ihm klar zu machen, dass ich kein Clearance Agent brauche, da ich ein Carnet de Passage habe. Es sagt doch ich brauche ihn und so gehe ich zum Zoll um zu fragen. Leider ist die einzige Person die Bescheid weiss nicht da und so muss ich morgen nochmals vorbeikommen. Mal sehen ob es dann klappt…
