In early afternoon I reach Astana and I’m a little bit shocked. After 2 Weeks in the outback of Kazakhstan and one week free camping, I reach now a complete different world. There are monumental buildings, clean roads, a lot of life style and many shopping malls.
But have trouble finding the hostel, because here in Astana, they have changed the street names. The road I seek is now in a completely different neighborhood. But I accustom that is reversed in the shower hot and cold. To the colors you cannot see well, as they also do not agree. The logic for this I have not figured out to this day. And finally: have a door handle found, which closes down and opens upward.
Unfortunately there is no embassy of Uzbekistan in Astana (it’s in Almaty). And I get only the most important spare part for the motorbike, and so I’ll go to Almaty earlier. Do I get the visa for Uzbekistan and do I find the spare parts?

Im früheren Mittag erreiche ich Astana und bin ein wenig geschockt. Nach2 Wochen im Hinterland von Kasachstan und einer Woche lang freies Campieren, treffe ich nun in einer ganz anderen Welt ein. Monumentale Gebäude, neue und saubere Strassen, viel Lifestyle und Shopping.
Habe aber Probleme das Hostel zu finden. Denn hier in Astana haben sie die Strassennamen geändert. Die Strasse die ich suche, ist nun in einem ganz anderen Stadtviertel. Dafür habe ich mich daran gewöhnt, dass beim Duschen ab und zu Warm und Kalt vertauscht sind. Auf die Farben kann man auch nicht schauen, da diese auch nicht stimmen. Die Logik dafür habe ich bis heute noch nicht herausgefunden. Einen habe ich noch: habe einen Türgriff gefunden, den man nach unten schliesst und nach oben öffnet.
Leider gibt es keine Usbekische Botschaft in Astana (diese ist in Almaty). Ebenso bekomme ich nur die nötigsten Ersatzteile für den Töff, so dass ich schneller nach Almaty aufbrechen werde. Werde ich in Almaty das Visum für Usbekistan und die Ersatzteile bekommen?
