Exmouth, Australia 23.9.2014 Exmoth, Australia Km: 75791 Bad sleep / Schlecht geschlafen Later in the evening comes a truck and parked right next to our tent. The bad thing is that it is a refrigerated truck and all night running the engine, so that the cooling is not interrupted. So we both do not sleep particularly well and are not so good mood the next morning.
The trip to the Karijini National Park brought some variety, but nothing spectacular. We stay on the R.I.P. Hill and meet a funny Australian who is just on camping too. He offers us to a cold beer and tell how many refrigerators he carries. It seems to be a challenge, who carries more cooling devices. A freezer and 2 fridges are standard! I also look if I can screw one on the bike 🙂
After a few hundred kilometer we reach Exmouth. It should be one of the most beautiful places in Australia and we are excited to see what awaits us. Since we have a lot lately slept badly, we go the first time at an official campsite. For this we have to pay a lot, but hope that we can some night’s sleep peacefully. ********************** Am späteren Abend kommt noch ein Lastwagen und parkiert genau neben unserem Zelt. Das blöde ist, das es ein Kühltransporter ist und die ganze Nacht läuft der Motor, damit die Kühlung nicht unterbrochen wird. So schlafen wir beide nicht besonders gut und sind am nächsten Morgen nicht so gut gelaunt. Der Abstecher in den Karijini Nationalpark brachte etwas Abwechslung, aber nichts spektakuläres. Wir übernachten auf dem R.I.P. Hügel und treffen einen lustigen Australier, der auch gerade am Campen ist. Er spendierte uns ein kühles Bier und Erzählt wie viele Kühlschränke er mitführt. Er scheint eine Challenge zu sein, wer mehr Kühlgeräte mitführt. Ein Eisschrank und 2 Kühlschränke sind Standard! Ich schaue auch mal ob ich einen an das Motorrad schrauben kann 🙂 Nach einigen hundert Kilometer erreichen wir Exmouth. Es soll einer der schönsten Orte in Australien sein und wir sind gespannt was uns erwartet. Da wir in letzter Zeit öfters schlecht geschlafen haben, gehen wir erstmals auf einen offiziellen Campingplatz. Wir müssen dafür einiges Zahlen, hoffen aber, dass wir einige Nächte ruhig schlafen können.
