It is now clear to us why the beef was tough as Anton. It was not a cow, but buffalo (water buffalo). And for sure not a calf, it was a buffalo from the retirement home. We tried pork the next day and it was quite good. Slightly more expensive than cow / buffalo and much cheaper than chicken or goat.
Because we have time until the visas are finished, we go to the mountains (Himalayas). Halfway I caught a puncture and need to repair. I pulled out of the tire 2 nails. After work were done, we drove on, but only for a few kilometers and I had another flat tire! ****! So do it all again and again lose an hour. Therefore, it is not enough time for us to drive very close to the high mountains. But we want this to this again, and make another attempt later.
In the next days we will collect visas. I have tried all to apply in parallel, which was not always easy. For the Thailand visa I had to ask to de consul for a meeting. I explain to him why a Visa on Arrival is not enough for me. Finally, I have 4 Visa in 1 ½ weeks, which is a very good performance. So it’s time to go to the next country…

Mittlerweile ist uns klar, warum das Beef zäh wie Anton war. Es war keine Kuh, sondern Büffel (Wasserbüffel). Zudem sicher kein Kalb, sondern ein Büffel aus dem Altersheim. Wir haben am nächsten Tag Schwein probiert und dies war ganz gut. Etwas teurer als Kuh/Büffel und viel billiger als Poulet oder Geiss.
Da wir Zeit haben, bis die Visa fertig sind, fahren wir in die Bergen (Himalaya). Auf halbem Weg habe ich eine Platen eingefangen und musste Reparieren. Gleich 2 Nägel zog ich aus dem Reifen. Nach der Arbeit fuhren wir weiter, jedoch nur einige Kilometer und ich hatte wieder einen flachen Reifen! ****! Also alles nochmals machen und wieder eine Stunde Zeit verlieren. Deshalb reicht es uns nicht, um ganz nahe an die hohen Berge zu fahren. Wir wollen dies aber nachholen und später einen weiteren Versuch wagen.
In den nächsten Tagen sammeln wir Visa ein. Ich habe versucht alle parallel zu beantragen, was nicht immer einfach war. Für das Thailand Visum musste ich sogar eine Besprechung mit de Konsul verlangen und ihm erklären, warum ein Visa on Arrival nicht reicht für mich. Schlussendlich habe ich 4 Visa in 1 ½ Wochen, was eine sehr gute Leistung ist. Also los ins nächste Land…
