I stop in Jaipur and Udaipur while I heading to south. In Udaipur already James Bond has stopped and is driven with a crocodile-U-boat to the famous island. I spend only a short time here, and I will quickly come to the south. When I looked at the map, I saw “Ghost Town Mandu”. This sounds exciting and is on the way. So let’s go! In addition, there is the only hotel that is stored in the GPS. All things if there is not a hotel, then I have a little problem. As I get closer Mandu, I see many remains of an ancient city. They are spread over many kilometres and you can only imagine how gigantic big this city was. In the village are a half a dozen hotels and with 250 rupees (~ 3.80 CHF) I stayed in the cheapest so far in India. Exactly these surprises I love. Unexpectedly, I stay at a super cool place (no tourists and a great place of interest).

Richtung Süden mache ich einen Abstecher nach Jaipur und Udaipur. In Udaipur hat sich schon James Bond aufgehalten und ist mit einem Krokodil- U-Boot auf die berühmte Insel gefahren. Ich selber mache nur kurz halt, denn ich will schnell nach Süden kommen. Als ich unterwegs mal auf die Karte schaue, sehe ich „Ghost Town Mandu”. Dies hört sich spannend an und liegt auf dem Weg. Also dahin! Zudem ist dort das einzige Hotel, das im Navi gespeichert ist. Allerding, wenn da kein Hotel ist, dann habe ich ein kleines Problem. Als ich Mandu näher komme, sehe ich viele Überreste einer antiken Stadt. Die sind über viele Kilometer verteilt und man kann nur erahnen wie gigantisch gross die Stadt einmal war. Im Dorf hat es dann ein halbes Duzend Hotels und ich finde mit 250 Rupien (~3.80 CHF) das günstigste bisher in Indien. Genau diese Überraschungen liebe ich. Völlig unerwartet übernachte ich an einem super coolen Ort (keine Touristen und eine tolle Sehenswürdigkeit).
