| \n \n\n Invitation \/ Einladung Taranaki, New Zealand <\/div>\n\n\n <\/td>\n\n\n <\/tr>\n\n\n<\/table>\n\n\nTaranaki, New Zealand<\/b>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n21.1.2015 Taranaki, New Zealand Km: 90408 Invitation \/ Einladung \n\n The trip to the East Coast was entertaining as we drove past some volcanoes. They are some active and they have welcomed us with a cloud of smoke. On Taranaki when camping we meet Morris and have a brief conversation. Later he comes again and brings a cold beer with. We chatting for a while and he invites us to his home. Since it is already late, we promise that we will come tomorrow. The next morning we drive but first around the Taranaki to New Plymouth to ask the Öhlins mechanic what about the shock. He does not say, except that he must have $ 300 and then look at what exactly is wrong. I like this not because I like to know why something is broken and it seems to me that he just wants to make money and sees me as a stupid tourist. Well, so I try from now on everything that I don’t have to go back to him and will seek in Auckland another mechanic. In the evening we go to Morris, who has invited us a day before. He is a farmer and a proud owner of over 330 dairy cows. Have amazed me how the New Zealand farmers have done it without subsidies and in a high-price country can keep their businesses going. His wife cooked us a delicious dinner and we show pictures and tell stories of our trip. So we spend a very pleasant evening with a great host.\n\n **********************\n\n Die Fahrt an die Ostküste war unterhaltsam, da wir an einigen Vulkanen vorbeifuhren. Zum Teil sind sie aktiv und sie haben uns mit einer Rauchwolke begrüsst. \n\n Am Taranaki beim Campen begegnen wir Morris und haben eine kurze Unterhaltung. Später kommt er nochmals vorbei und bringt ein kühles Bier mit. Wir Quatschen eine ganze Weile und er lädt uns zu sich heim ein. Da es schon spät ist, versprechen wir, dass wir morgen vorbeikommen. \n\n Am nächsten Morgen fahren wir aber zuerst rund um den Taranaki nach New Plymouth um beim Öhlins Mechaniker zu fragen was mit dem Federbein ist. Er sagt nicht, ausser dass er es für 300$ zerlegen muss und dann schaut was defekt ist. Mir gefällt dies überhaupt nicht, da ich gerne wisse warum etwas defekt ist und mir kommt es vor, dass er einfach nur Geld machen will und mich als dummen Tourist sieht. Nun gut, so versuche ich von jetzt an alles, damit ich nichts bei ihm machen muss und werde in Auckland einen anderen Mechaniker suchen.\n\n Am Abend gehen wir zu Morris, der uns einen Tag zu vor eingeladen hat. Er ist Bauer und stolzer Besitzer von über 330 Milchkühen. Mich erstaunt wie die Neuseeländischen Bauern es geschafft haben ohne Subventionen und in einem Hochpreisland ihre Betriebe am Laufen zu halten können.\n\n Seine Frau kocht uns noch ein leckeres Abendessen und wir zeigen Bilder und erzählen Geschichten unserer Reise.
