I’m getting enough of it, as I have already patched the tube 6 times. Now, however, the valve is broken and I need to use my spare tube. By the way, I am meanwhile very quickly and I fix a rear tire in 30 minutes. The problem now is that I no longer have a spare tube and nothing may happen. During the repair Francesca cut a papaya and she supported me with refreshing fruit pieces .\n\n On the way south we pass in the new capital, Naypyidaw. The first thing we see are over-sized streets. None of the roads has less than 8 tracks (4 +4). The widest has about 18 tracks (have not counted them). We also drive along many military installations and were stopped by the army they did not allow to continue on this street. The interesting thing about the city is that it acts like a ghost town. Hardly any cars on the streets, little houses and almost no people are visible. Between hotels, supermarket and other buildings is a huge distance and fields. I feel something lost in the communist- planned monumental city.\n\n In Kyaikiyo we meet Gunther Holtorf, who travel for over 26 years with his Mercedes “Otto” on a world tour. He has traveled to over 220 countries and thereby come soon 900,000 kilometers. Nevertheless, that Gunther looked tired it was a fantastic and inspiring encounter. He would like to travel the last few countries where a drive by car is possible, and then draw a line. His SUV is then exhibited in the Mercedes Museum and will probably get a place in the Guinness Book of Records. I feel great to meet such a world traveler, but I also feel a bit sad that I will probably never come this far. On the other hand, he also started out small. Who knows where my journey ends …..\n\n **********************\n\n Kurz nach der Abfahrt von Inle Lake habe ich schon wieder einen platten Reifen. Ich habe langsam genug davon, da ich den Schlauch schon 6 Mal geflickt habe. Nun ist aber das Ventil abgerissen und ich muss meinen Ersatzschlauch verwenden. Durch das viele flicken, bin ich unterdessen sehr schnell und bin in 30 Minuten fertig. Das Problem ist nun, dass ich keinen Ersatzschlauch mehr habe und nichts mehr passieren darf. Während der Reparatur besorgt Francesca eine Papaya und unterstützt mich somit mit erfrischenden Fruchtstücken. \n\n Auf dem Weg nach Süden kommen wir in der neuen Hauptstadt, Naypyidaw vorbei. Das erste was wir sehen sind überdimensionierte Strassen. Keine der Strassen hat we***** als 8 Spuren (4+4). Die breiteste hat etwa 18 Spuren (habe nicht genau gezählt). Wir fahren auch an vielen Militäreinrichtungen vorbei und werden dabei gestoppt und an der Weiterfahrt gehindert. Das interessante an der Stadt ist, dass sie wie eine Geisterstadt wirkt. Kaum Fahrzeuge auf der Strasse, wenig Häuser und fast keine Leute sind zu sehen. Zwischen Hotels, Supermarkt und anderen Häuser ist jeweils ein riesen Abstand und Grasland. Ich fühle mich dabei etwas verloren in der kommunistisch-monumental geplanten Stadt.\n\n In Kyaikiyo treffen wir Gunther Holtorf, der mit seinem Mercedes „Otto”, seit über 26 Jahren auf Weltreise ist. Er hat über 220 Länder bereist und dabei bald 900’000 Kilometer zurückgelegt. Trotzdem dass Gunther müde wirkte war es eine fantastische und inspirierende Begegnung. Er möchte noch die letzten paar Länder bereisen, in denen ein Fahren mit dem Auto möglich ist und dann einen Schlussstrich ziehen. Sein Geländewagen wird dann im Mercedes Museum ausgestellt und wird wohl einen Platz im Guinness Buch der Rekorde erhalten. Ich fühle mich grossartig einen solchen Weltenbummler zu treffen, aber ich fühle mich auch ein bisschen traurig, dass ich wohl nie so weit kommen werde. Auf der anderen Seite hat auch er klein angefangen.
