There were a few days ago two Indians kidnapped and therefore shops and restaurant are closed in protest. We can cross the border, but still need the permit from Myanmar. Later, the passport was stamped on the Indian side and after another military post and custom control we drove over the bridge to Myanmar. The entry went as far without problems, but also took hours again. While waiting, I was able to watch as the 2 missing in a coffin were transported to India! I think this is why are all a bit nervous and they want to close the border tomorrow again. The custom police took photo of the motorbike and then we could go with a guard. To drive to the next bigger city, we had no time anymore and we stayed in the near to the border. On the way to Kalewa we were also accompanied again by a guide, but could drive mostly free. After India, Myanmar is like to be in heaven. People are much friendlier, waving as we drive past and laugh at what the Indians never actually made. Also, it is much cleaner in Myanmar and there is less dirt around. The residents keep more distance if I stop with the motorbike, and much more…. Let’s see if I have a good impression on the occupancy of Myanmar and the amazing scenery.\n\n **********************\n\n Die Grenze zu Myanmar ist trotz eines Vorfalles heute geöffnet. Es wurden vor einigen Tagen 2 Inder Entführt und darum sind Geschäfte und Restaurant aus Protest geschlossen. Wir können die Grenze aber passieren, brauchen aber noch die Permit von Myanmar. Nachdem diese Besorgt war, wurde der Pass auf indischer Seite abgestempelt und nach weiteren Militärposten und Custom Control fuhren wir über die Brücke nach Myanmar. Die Einreise verlief soweit problemlos, dauerte aber auch nochmals Stunden. Während des Wartens, konnte ich zusehen wie die 2 vermissten in einem Sarg nach Indien transportiert wurden! Ich glaube deswegen sind alle etwas nervös und sie wollen morgen die Grenze ganz schliessen. Die Polizei machte noch ein Foto des Töff und dann konnten wir mit einem Aufpasser weiter fahren. In die nächste grössere Stadt reichte es nicht mehr und wir übernachteten in der Näher der Grenze. Auf dem Weg nach Kalaymyo wurden wir auch wieder von einem Guide begleitet, konnten aber mehrheitlich frei fahren.\n\n Nach Indien ist Myanmar eine Befreiung. Die Menschen sind viel freundlicher, winken wenn wir vorbeifahren und lachen auch, was die Inder eigentlich nie machten. Auch ist es in Myanmar viel sauberer und es liegt we***** Dreck herum.
