Unfortunately, he is not there as promised to be here at 10am and I have to wait up to 12 o’clock. After that it drive off and I have to drive about 45 Km from the centre to out of the city. Through a lot of dust, exhaust smoke and hectic traffic. On a busy street, I then saw my first wild elephant. A powerful animal which was used for work. In Agra arrived, I see from the roof of the hotel a major monument and decide the next day to see. Admission is 750 rupees (~ 11CHF) for tourist 38 times more than for the locals! A Guide catches and wants to show it all. I told him three times that I’ll not pay anything because I do not want a guide. He follows me anyway at every turn. So I do not feel free and I ask him that I can go alone. Was quite nice to look at the mausoleum, but it has too many tourists here, so I’m moving on again\n\n **********************\n\n Bevor ich abfahre, muss ich noch die Hosen beim Schneider abholen. Leider ist er nicht wie versprochen um 10Uhr da und ich muss bis 12 Uhr warten. Danach geht es aber los und ich muss von der Mitte der Stadt bis an den Stadtrand ca. 45 Km fahren. Durch viel Staub, Abgase und hektischer Verkehr. Auf einer belebten Strasse habe ich dann meinen ersten freilebenden Elefanten gesehen. Ein mächtiges Tier das wohl zum Arbeitseinsatz eingeteilt war. \n\n In Agra angekommen, sehe ich vom Dach des Hotels in der Nähe ein grosses Monument und beschliesse dies am nächsten Tag an zu sehen. Der Eintritt ist mit 750 Rupien (~11CHF) 38 Mal mehr als die einheimische Bevölkerung zahlen muss! Ein Guide fängt mich gleich ab und will alles zeigen. Ich sage ihm drei Mal, dass ich nichts bezahlen werde, da ich keinen Guide will. Er folgt mir trotzdem auf Schritt und Tritt. So fühle ich mich nicht frei und ich bitte ihm, dass ich alleine weitergehen kann.
